Shut Old Paul Up

While we're at it, I hate Lily and if she complains one more time she'll be waking up to the pointy end of my machete. If she's too scared to be in my underdeveloped settlement she can go the way she came.

I think the main issue is that some SS2 settlers can be a little TOO vocal about what they want you to do when THEY want you to do it.

or make old paul join the raiders that way we can kill him.. im voting to kill old paul LOLOL then we can get his third cousin from his uncle's brother side to join up.. Young Baul

got to say that the pair of them are a whole new level up from marcy and that is some going.
as soon as im done beta testing im making them mortal and taking them out back with my shotgun.

Yip, Old Paul is the bane of my life...won't shut up - I don't care about dung! and he's following me around like a bad smell...even away from the settlement he'll teleport in and ask for dog food...

Never thought I'd say this...but give me back Preston and his damned settlements needing help!

For what its worth, I'm using SS2 1.0g

I'd like to add my voice to this feedback. The dynamic cityscape sounds along with Old Paul and Lily yammering on and on throughout my build process can be... well lets just say it's distracting and provides too much business to the manufacturers of aspirin.

Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the feedback that my settlers are providing me with. And I also do appreciate the funny dialogue in the background from the buildings. But I think it would go a long way to limit these significantly so that they become more of a flavor content, rather than a looping ambient noise. Perhaps limit these to once every 1 or two hours in game or something... or put a 10-20 minute pause between repeating comments in real time.

As a caveat, I am playing on a timescale of 10... so I am not entirely sure if this was an unintended byproduct of this setting. If so you can disregard this feedback.
If not... perhaps a toggle to limit comments while still allowing them to exist would be good for some users.

I must confess, the yelled out "was killed by a f-king bloatfly" and the deliberately-off-key singing in the Dynamic Soundscape are getting a bit old for me too.

I got to agree with some of the points made here. I think the dialogue loop of settlers could really be a lot longer. I don’t need to be retold the same thing within minutes.

And the mission about getting dog food should be looked at. I’m not saying it needs to be a one time thing but it needs work. I could see it work two ways. Either after feeding him a certain number of times (3? 5?) it unlocks something. Or it’s an eternal quest that old paul mentions A LOT LESS but gives a small reward. Something like “dog was happy and found a junk item for you” type of deal.

Simply my two cents

I have to chime in on this. I wouldn't even mind Old Paul and the Girl (i forget her name i just know she's WAY too clean and made up to be part of a wasteland) but you can hear them no matter where you are in your settlement, or at least I can. Paul could be standing at the movie theater screen and i'm by the main entrance of starlight and I can hear him as if he's standing next to me.

the dialogue loops are very short and I've heard one dialogue (the one about is that a roof or an ashtray ) play in tandem as in it started on one plot and shortly after on another, so it sounded echoed. I took a Bio break and heard that repeat from what I figure was 3 different plots at least 8 times in 12 minutes. I have taken to staying out of the settlement because I'm tired of hearing them talk. I've have only gotten the dog once. I didn't want to do the quest right away so I figured I could just accept it and go do other things. Old paul followed me clear across the wasteland bugging me about checking on his friend the entire mission with those crazy robots on the boat.

Yes please! Shut up old Paul how many times do you feed that little frickin dog.
There is plenty of canned dog food in the workshop!

This. Please, this. This is my first post, and I'm loving this mod, but between being pestered for dog food and listening to the same conversations for the 50th time, it's a bit immersion breaking. The conversations in particular are driving me nuts, especially the violent ones, like the "paint the door red with your brains" and stuff, 'cause honestly, at that point the settler saying that would be marched out into the Wasteland at gunpoint by ME.

I honestly feel like this particular comment should be tied to a raider based settlement. The first time I heard this, It fired just before a raider band attacked my settlement. I figured it was one of them that said it (I have a mod that gives NPCs more dialogue variety). So when I heard it again I thought raiders were attacking. Of course none were so I checked to see if maybe I had a raider themed plot. I didn't.
