Fixed Settlers Not Assigning and Unassigning

I have been working and haven't played much so today decided to play, and noticed I had some unassigned settlers that I could manually assign to some plots, so I went into workshop mode and tried to assign them. Got the "This resource is assigned" message but the For Rent sign never went away, construction never started, settler never moved toward the plot. Also seems as I visit settlements the supply line using Ideks Logistics Station is being unassigned by SS and I can't reassign a settler to it. All of my settlements were connected by supply routes Monday and after visiting 4 of them today they are no longer connected and I can't reassign a settler to the LS.

@SFCR0CK Have you tried the 'wait around for 15 minutes' approach to let any scripts running complete? Maybe they just need time to re-attach themselves to their assigned plots?

@Otherwhere I tried waiting around and nothing, I even tried doing a refresh local plot from the pip-boy, and in one settlement I even tried a settlement refresh. I waited around after trying each of these and I tried them in different settlements.

I have a solution for this in the next patch so that the plot will be more responsive even while the mod is in the process of repairing it.

Waiting is definitely the best way to go for now. Since you got the resource is assigned message, it means the workshop scripts are functioning - Sim Settlements is just backed up. I'd try leaving your character standing there next time you need to take a break, then when you come back try refreshing one of those plots.

If it's not working after waiting, then your save is corrupt and there's not really anything we can do on Xbox - which is I advise waiting longer. That's the only way we can be sure scripts aren't backed up on Xbox.

If this issue happens to newly placed plots, then this is doubly true.

@OwenHo I have never actually counted, but when it gets to a certain number it tells you out of space and cannot create any more saves and have to delete some. @kinggath I loaded a save from earlier and have the same issues with settlers not being able to be assigned as well other issues I reported in other threads. I don't want to keep going back to older saves and possibly corrupting them and loosing progress either.

Given the number of issues you're having, I'd recommend testing with a fresh save to see if they all happen there. If so, we need to look into mod conflicts. None of the Xbox test team has been reporting any of these problems aside from having to wait a while after first updating to 3.1.6 for everything to clear up.

If you can create an extra save to test with there are a few suggestions that other people said worked for them, granted on PC. Moving the thread count to one and just standing in each settlement until the settlers go back to work. Changing your graphics to Low(sorry if you can't on Xbox). If you have a settlement with a leader, take the city back and then pick a leader again, remember this is a trash save. See if those settlers will work afterwards.
Checking a new save like kinggath suggests is a quick way to test. Just grab Red Rocket and pop up a beacon.
Thank you
