Settlers cant put out fires etc. and the turn off function in mod conf. does not work

I was having the same issue. What I ended up doing was backing up to a save before the fire started. From there I turned off fires in the configuration menu. All it does is prevent fires from starting so if you don't have any then they won't start.
 
Same issue here, the worse part is it seems to cause settlers to end up fighting with robots for some reason. Can't seem to click the fire in console and get rid of that way even.
 
I am running into the same issue and I've updated days ago. I can't put the fires out, the HQ staff can't do it, and it turns some staff hostile to each other and a gunfight breaks out while trying to quench the fire. Poor Cedric kept freezing people and Theresa apparently had enough and started shooting him.

I turned OFF Disasters in the City Manager Holotape, but that only stops new disasters from occurring. Can anyone point to a potential fix? I've rolled back to saves before the hostilities broke out, but I don't think I can roll back far enough to restart before the Disasters.
 
In theory, if you leave HQ for 24+ ingame hours, your dudes should eventually start clearing out Disasters on their own. I believe this may be dependant on how well-staffed your HQ is, though I can't say how it works that out for certain.
(little secret: kinggath has outright said that he codes in 'automated finish timers' for ANYTHING that involves an NPC doing something, because the AI in this game is so unreliable you can't even trust it to do what it's explicitly told when it has no other options)

However, quite a few people have said that this isn't happening for them. I've no idea why, I haven't yet seen any commonality to who it's happening for.

That said, the next patch due out in a couple days from time of writing will have had another pass at trying to make them fix up more reliably. Specifically it's pretty consistently been all Disasters spawning down in the 'basement' floor that are the most likely to cause these kinds of issues.
 
The basement is a separate cell though, right? So I assume whatever happens in the basement is its own thing. What really grinds my gears is having eternal disasters on the main floor. Thankfully that haven't really happened yet on this save, only the basement. (Performance is still awful on the main floor and I'm not sure that can be helped, just save up for a PC and go nuts)
Also the finish timers work but don't work. At least when it comes to my infestations, messages pop up but nothing happens.
 
Even on the newest version, I still have an infestation on the main floor that just won't go away. I've tried turning infestations off, tried sending guys on the project (it does nothing, doesn't even use up security energy and the project never appears to start). The quest markers point to empty air.
 
I've slept for over 24 hours, fast traveled away, returned, shut down the game, restarted and I still have the fire going on in HQ. People still try to put it out and this time Frenchy Jr and Theresa got into a firefight that lasted until I was able to send Frenchy Jr to Red Rocket - where he was promptly attacked and he began firing upon the settlers there. I had to gun him down. I used console commands to resurrect him, but it happened again immediately upon his revival. I had to kill him again to stop any other violence.

And now, I have the HUD element for the reassign settlers to optimal professions stuck on the screen and it won't go away!

I could really use some help - please!
 
Same problem, an unfightable fire in the ground floor SW bathroom adjacent to the small maintenance room. NPCs can't extinguish it, I can't extinguish it, I've tcl'd through the wall to try to extinguish it from the other side. Assigned firefighters from HQ, doesn't work. Slept, turned fires off specifically, and all disasters generally. Left and returned to HQ. The fire is still there, and HQ is the constant sound of extinguishers.

edit still happening in the latest patch 2.2.2, though it initially occurred in the previous version. It's just this one fire that won't die.
