EDIT: RESOLVED. This turns out to be an already-discovered conflict, discussed and tempfixed here - the thread has a patch by pra as a workaround until SE updates.

I hope to be able to let you know exactly which one, but it's proving tricky, so I thought I'd give a heads up meanwhile. The crash it causes has some pretty specific circumstances, but it's a sneaky one. I'll try to be brief and clear, bear with me if I don't express this well:
  • Using Scrap Everything, but NOT using any .ini edits - not disabling precombined.
  • Placed several interior plots at Jamaica Plain. Stayed in the area with no issues. Tarps went up, plots were in progress.
  • Left JP area for at least 3-4 in-game days.
  • After that, when entering the cell JP is in from any direction, by any method, instant CTD.
  • Realized that the interior plots must have completed during the time I was away.
Why does this mean bad mesh? This is the misleading part.... turns out that even if you aren't using the iffy ini edits, Jamaica Plain has precombined disabled when using Scrap Everything. According to the maintainer of SE when I reported this to them, in any cell where precombined is disabled, an attempt to load a bad mesh will result in a CTD.
Ruled out SE as the culprit by using the console command "coc" or "crc" or whatever it is, to travel directly to Jamaica Plain from the main menu - with no save file active - and SE enabled. No crash. Went to JP on other characters with no interior plots. No crash.

Here's why I haven't been able to identify exactly which plot yet... since I can only go back there now by disabling Scrap Everything (or SimSet), the original buildings I scrapped are back in place..... which is where I placed the interior plots... so I can't get to them to see what they are -_-. They are embedded in the vanilla wreckage, lolsigh.
I hope to be able to get to them and test by demolishing one interior plot, then reenabling Scrap Everything, seeing if it crashes, lather rinse repeat until it don't crash no mo'.
I can tell you that I have SimSett, Wasteland Venturers, and Conqueror installed; and the only interior plots in use there were 4 residential and 2 commercial.
I have no idea if you have a way to make a pass over the plots to validate meshes, or something. Hopefully soon I can figure out how to reach the plots without crashing.

I don't know if this is caused by the same thing, but Scrap Everything has a bug in it where they accidentally changed vanilla objects (like the Green house planter) and pointed them to new meshes which they failed to include in the archives. Unsure why they would even do this. It will cause a crash if any other mod uses those vanilla objects that they have deleted.

The bug has been reported to them here and they are looking into it.

This particularly concerns Sim Settlements plots since we can use vanilla objects in SCOLs to save space for Xbox (that SCOL in itself is not a vanilla edit since it has a new unique name). I think it won't cause a crash if it's a mod that adds vanilla objects as references to the world, since obviously the meshes that those objects point to are still in the Fallout 4 - main archives, but I haven't tried this.

Edit: pra has uploaded a fix for the planter here until Scrap Everything gets updated. Though the green house planter vanilla edit was discovered while ctd on our 3x3 coffee farm, so the ctds you're experiencing may be caused by other vanilla edits that they have made.

That's... weird. I have your 3x3 coffee farm at Jamaica Plain. It completed, I have been inside it, I was there for at least a RL hour, no crash.
Is that planter used in level 2 or 3 of the plot, and not level 1? If that's the case, then this probably IS that crash. Interior plots have completed in the time I was away, so that seemed the likely culprit - but it's certainly possible that the coffee farm plot upgraded as well.

I'll test with pra's fix.

Edit: just read the thread where the fix is, looks like it is indeed NOT present in level 1. So this is, in fact, that.
Also, VIits and Shadow (the maintainer and original author, respectively), have always been chill and cool, so while I understand you've had bad experiences with other people reacting badly to bug reports, neither of them are a "....person," and shadow's had some RL issues interfere which is why VIits took over, so TL;DR i'd be surprised if you got any kind of bad reaction, please don't badmouth them without cause, i'm sure this mesh edit was a simple mistake. Their mod has been wonderful for years and took a lot of boring work to set up. =/

Penultimate Edit: Fix confirmed! The Coffee Farm is sho'nuff level 2 and had upgraded while I was away. No crash. Place looks pretty cool. /sips coffee
