[Bug] Quest log problem: "Red Handed" & "Listen to Jake's Private Frequency"

Took the note and knife from the door, entered the room.

subquest "search for the robot at the bottom feeder brothel" marks completed

quest does not proceed after that.

please help! using latest SS 1.0.2

Just a follow-up

This applies to "Listen to jake's private frequency", which still reflects in my quest logs,

but I have already completed all of SS2 part 1 quests.

In the console, typing "sqt" does not show any SS quests...

which means i can't find the quest ID to quest complete it.... please help!!

would be great if i could get the ID (SS2_CharacterQuests_****)... so i can do a sqs & get/setstage?

1. Do NOT use console commands to change stages. The quests have too many scripts running in the background that will break.

2. Troubleshooting Guide | Sim Settlements 2 Wiki
Scroll down to the "Im stuck on the main quest"
cqf ss2_mqmaster SkipToQuest X
Replace X with the name of the quest

I have typed cqf ss2_mqmaster SkipToQuest SS2_Sirick_MQ14

Nothing happened. I had even tried to do it sequentially from ....MQ01 to ....MQ14

I believe, the instructions you provided were for the main questline.

But "Red Handed" is a side quest; and,

"Listen to jake's private frequency" was part of one of the main questline... which I have already completed. (Nothing happened with cqf method)

I had completed the main SS2 quests part 1.
 
Doh. Not familiar with the Red Handed quest. Out of five play throughs I have yet to see it.
I tried help "Red Hand" 0 and got zero results, and saw nothing in help "hand' 0
 
The objective is just stuck, it's on my list to resolve, you can ignore the Jake's Frequency objective in your save.

As for the other quest, I'm not aware of any issues with it, but will add it to my list as well.

May i get the base id for Red Handed, by The Ventilator (SS2_CharacterQuests_****)

I'm stuck on this quest as well. Went to the brothel, got the note and the knife, killed the synths, and was told to return to the Ventilator. Problem is, that directive has been checked off even though I have yet to speak to him, and for that matter he's disappeared from Sanctuary and I can't find him. Would appreciate an ID for him so I can try a moveto player. Thanks!

That is not how the quest is supposed to go....

1. Go to brothel.
2. Find the note on the door.
3. Kill the synths.
4. Loot the holotape from the synth.
5. Head to Diamond City Power Noodles.
6. Read note to go to security.
7. Go to security and get holotape.
8. Go to scavenger camp and retrieve the bot.
9. Return to The Ventilator.

Gimmie a minute and I can give you my ID#, how you need to substitute my XX with your XX for the mod.20201209152631_1.jpg

Then the quest is gimped all to heck for me. Quest text has all objectives completed and nothing left to do. Ventilator is missing from settlement. Any ideas? (ty for above)

Take that id and compare it to mine. figure out which two digits are different then replace those same two digits in the baseid and use that for the moveto command.
 
Sorry to keep coming back to this but I still can't find the Ventilator and I have a 50 lb box in my inventory I'd REALLY like to get rid of.
help ventilator 0 gives me:
Buncha Dial and Quest lines
NPC_: (0D01EAB1) 'The Ventilator'

But if I try to use that ID in a moveto command (either direction. Him to me or me to him) the game gives me an invalid object reference error. Any other thoughts? Appreciate the help!
 
Figure out which two digits are different then the ones in my screenshot for the refid.
Then replace those same two digits in the baseid and use that for the moveto command.
 
I was stuck at a stage where I had to talk to The Ventilator and even getting his baseID and moveto player and talking to him wouldn't debug it. I figured out how to get past that, so in case someone runs in that same problem with the ventilator, here's how I fixed it:

help ventilator 0 => the line that starts with QUST: gives the questID

Then sqs [questID] => gives the stages that are done and those not done

For all the remaining stages after the last done stage, do setstage [questID] [stage#] until the stage 110 => quest will complete and it will ask to which settlement you want to send The Ventilator and THEN you can get rid of the 50lbs quest item.
 
I'm stuck at "search the synth". Amusing enough, I turned in the quest to Magnolia, not the Ventilator, by accident. I talked to Magnolia for the recording quest and it said I turned the Ventilator into her, but I still have the quest, with the "search the synth" step still not checked. I'm at the synth, he doesn't have any thing, I looted him already, listened to the tape, followed the trail, etc. Help?

Not sure how the spoiler tag works, tired of wasting time to figure it out-maybe someone can explain it to me later how to do it. For now do this:
setstage 0C01D954 110 from the command console
This will complete the quest and let you send what's his name to a settlement. Again, SS2 is still a work in progress, no worries.

@Randall Spears @MacAllen , Are you using any mods that allow you to change the main quests? Fusion City Rising, Outcasts and Remnants, Project Valkyrie, etc.?
