Quest skipping vs Scanner/beacon usage

Hey, folks!

I hope it's okay to ask this here, as I didn't want to submit a direct report without some kind of confirmation of the issue.
I used the recently added quest skipper, to skip ahead through the quests. I completed the first part of the "Picking up the pieces" questline (test the first prototype locator beacon), but cannot advance further in the questline. Picking up the pieces is listed under completed quests, but I've not recieved the next quest in the series, and Jake is missing so I can't talk to him/couldn't advance it even if I had the next quest.
If I drop a sensor scanner in any location now, I get a "Try scanning closer to one of the objective locations" message, where I can press ok.

so, my question; Is there a way to advance this to make the sensors actually useable? :)

It sounds like the "cheat" didn't correctly complete Picking up the Pieces. Try using the "quest skipper" and NOT skip Picking up the Pieces. Three fetch quests should complete it and end Chapter 1.

Better question: Anyone else having issues with the new "skip quest" cheat not working correctly?

I've tried all sorts of things to make it advance, but reverting to an earlier save is not an option, as this is way too far along. Everything seemed fine, up until I tried to use a sensor to drop a beacon.
Looking through my quest targets (with the SQT command), the only SS2 related quest in there is SS2_MQMaster, at stage 10. There's two stages (10 and 100). Advancing that one to 100, pops the "Technology Unlocked: Salvage Beacons", but using a sensor at any location still pops the ...wait.
God damn it.
I tried this three separate times, when I was in University Point, and still got an error. I didn't want to force it until I heard back,, in case it'd mess something else up. Appears to have completed it all now, though.

I have used it three times, and each time it has worked perfectly (as far as I can tell). I received the XP and was able to proceed to the next quest without any trouble. I used it to skip The Coolest Cat, Where There's Smoke, and Memory Lane. I'll have to check to make sure I have the quests It Came From Planet X and Grey Matters. I hope so, as I was planning on doing those today!

My biggest concern with the "Story Skip" "cheat" is that it might get... confused if you try to make it go through several in one go and you have other script-lag getting in the way. From what I've seen so far, though, that isn't happening.

When I did a quick test of it last night, it did give me the Misc Quests that lead into both of those.
