Be warned that if you install an item from the Creation Club, even using the free credits, the game can re-sort your Load Order.

This can cause all sorts of bizarre issues, especially if you are using the Unofficial patch. These issues can end up causing permanent t problems in your save if you don't restore the Load Order. Trying to figure out what your Load Order was can be close to impossible if you have a decent number of mods.

Until this issue is resolved, I recommend not attempting to install Creation Club content.

Hi, just wondering if anyone is able to play since the CC update. I was having an awesome playthrough, minding my own business then BAM...game over. I see that the f4se is up but with minimal functionality, just wondering if anyone is able to play using it. I am afraid my game is screwed and I was at level 80 with lots of nice settlements built... I do have about 150 mods installed so I am afraid to try the minimally functional f4se.

my game is fine
I'm using f4se 0.5.0 without trouble http://f4se.silverlock.org/
do you have place everywhere as well? that has to be upgraded as well
did u buy anything from the CC as kinggath said it can mess up ur load order

No, I didn't install anything from CC. I also don't think I have the place everywhere mod. Thanks for your reply, I really want to play so I guess I will give the new f4se a try. I guess the worst that can happen is that my game won't work

@kinggath it can happen to you even if you dont get any of the creation club content had the Unofficial patch move on me and all i did was look at the creation club offerings when it first launched didn't buy anything or anything still have the free 100 credits. I am on X-box

Wow. Thanks for the warning. I was gonna maybe get the skins at one point since free but i felt like someone like this might happen.

@Lortrick Oh yeah, the Unofficial Patch itself was screwed up by the game patch. Bethesda removed support for something they were doing that was kind of a hack. They had made their mod an esp, but flagged it as a Master File - so it can't be at the top of your load order anymore which can cause all sorts of problems.

@kinggath So should I take it out of my load order for now till it gets fixed I am about to start a new playthrough cause all my saves some how got corrupted somehow cant play any game even a save that had no modes installed

The Unofficial Patch is kind of an all or nothing mod. Either you use it at the start of your playthrough, or you never use it. It can cause a lot of issues to install mid playthrough or remove later.

Thanks for the heads up!

While the mods I use run fine with the outdated version I am staying put.

The CC currently sorely lacks any compelling content to make up for the chaos it has brought forth.

My load order is... finicky with 229 mods that result in 153 masters/plugins after merged patches, stuff I have concocted with more good will than knowledge etc; without a fairly specific load order the game as I have come to enjoy it is not going to run.

If you're using the NMM, you can export your load order to a txt file.

Invaluable, especially when you're updating mods.

This I didn't know, thank you.

I have been taking screenshots of my load order but having it on a text file is better; I surmise you can also import the load order from the text file?

Yea, I always keep load order as exported txt file.... makes updating a snap in NMM, just update, import LO done

Use LOOT to sort your load order: https://loot.github.io/
You can launch it directly from NMM, if you use it. It should help re-organize your load order if it got messed up by CC.

LOOT is ok, but there are some mods that have a number of esp files that need a specific order, and LOOT isn't great at handling those, so still, need to move esp around a bit.... The metadata ranking functions in LOOt are not as user-friendly as they could be....

I find LOOT a little bit hit and miss once things get complicated.

These days I prefer to sort the load order manually.

That's what I do, I group and install my mods in my load order essentially, and then tweak after to perfection!

If you are using Mod Organizer make a copy of your profile and put it in a safe place before playing. That way you have a copy of your load order.
