Patch 2.1.4 - +1 INTelligence

OMFG! This is JUST what I have contemplated over and wished like "Darn... why can't the AI for the settlers be more dynamic and SMART. I have to supervise them like "If you don't have water, then build a well?""... you solved that. Thank you!

Fixed tax bonus from perks, was supposed to be giving 10% bonuses each for Local Leader 1/2 and Cap Collector 1/2/3, but was instead giving substantially more. If you previously felt the tax rate was too high and had turned it down or off, you may wish to give it another try. If you felt it was in a good spot, you’ll want to set the rates to double to get closer to what they were prior to this patch.

For me the patch seems to have increased the tax output quite substantially. Instead of 400-something caps i now something like 2000 caps on the default tax rate. Did someone else experience something similar or is this just me?

@nic547 I'll definitely double check my math and confirm I didn't misplace a decimal, but it may also have been coincidental. Taxes won't be collected from plots whose needs aren't met, so if you had a settlement short on defense, then fixed it. The next tax day they might all suddenly start paying taxes again.

I also feel like they've gone up. I just started a new settlement with only 5 people, and the first round of taxes was $50. (Which seems more than it used to be.)

Found out what was going on with the taxes that caused them to increase. Will be fixed in the next patch. In the meantime, you may need to cut your tax rates in half!

I am in Starlight and have found a few things... getting martial designs on residential plots. I individually assign designs versus random - unless I am okay with the random choice. I only have noticed this issue in this version of SS. Not an issue for me as I said I decide 90% of time what I want built....

Also, with the ASAM on, settlers are highlighted red, showing "red" in the bed count for the settlement, Auto Assign is ON, the settlers are not getting assigned but mill around the settlement till I manually assign. Perhaps a scripting lag because after I start manually assigning the residential plots, it does then start assigning them to the commercial/marital/industrial plots, etc...

Not sure, just wanted to share.

What if you dont cut them in 1/2? Will only happiness be affected or the Settlers...will they revolt! :) (that would be kind of cool to revolve people in and out)

Oh it was just a balance thing - the taxes are just a player reward right now. They will be made more involved in the future.
