Pastor Edmond has not shown up

And other Concord quests like Fallon's have started appearing. Seems like it's good to go now!
 
I didn't even know there was a Bible inside the church that the Player could take, and I've never seen Edmund there with Jake at the start of Well Well Well (and never been able to talk to Edmund full stop), so there must be another factor.

I am running into the same issue with Pastor Edmund in my current save after the quest to get the com hub. One odd thing I noticed is that announcement for the church services at 9 pm, is already on the board when I went into concord early instead of starting the intro quests with Jake since I planned to skip them. I also went into the Museum to grab the bobblehead, and magazine leaving the peanut gallery to rot before leaving through the front door instead of the roof. But the raiders didn't spawn neither did the death claw that supposed to come out revealing the third concord service entrance. Is it possible that I accidently broke the required sequence of events that had to occur before completing the quest to get the com hub and I need to scrap my game again? Since the conversation between Pastor Edmund and Jake occurred normally on my old character that I scrapped since I needed to delete some mods. Just to be clear I didn't loot the bible at pulpit that was covered by the skeleton when I first went into concord without Jake. I am going try to do the Hammer, Nail and Sickle quest to see if it clears up any possible script issues.

So, fun fact, despite using the same load order as last time it wasn't working... it did this time? Including Edmund's introduction dialog.
I wonder if it's because it'd been long enough since I went back to Concord for the main street Raiders to have respawned, thus aggroing him too, which made his AI 'reset' or something? I don't know how any of that works.

Additional fun fact: The Brotherhood airdropped some Knights into Concord as Edmund was walking over to the church... exactly within the radius that the 'aoe fall damage' from one of the Knights aggroed Edmund.

Still weirds me out that the "initial dialog" with him includes one of the unlock points for Cemetery subclass plots... despite this being before you'd even HAVE Municipal Type plots available if you didn't already cheat.

I can confirm your method somehow snaps the pastor out of whatever AI loop he is stuck in. I had to use enemy spawn grenades and have the raiders aggro both Jake and Edmund. After the battle he walks over and starts the required conversation with Jake before you go restore the power. But after restoring the power and completing that task. I still can't get Edmund to do his introduction dialogue even though the missing caravan mission has shown up on the board.

On my first playthrough, I saw Edmund speaking to Jake at the start of Well, Well, Well. I asked Jake who that was, and later everything seemed fine with rebuilding the church and speaking to Edmund.

On this playthrough, Edmund wasn't there at the start of Well, Well, Well. I had the option of asking Jake about him but didn't take it since it didn't make any sense. I'm now about to start Picking up the Pieces, and I've never been able to initiate a conversation with Edmund. The church is still unrepaired. The four notices have appeared on the noticeboard though, and I've completed Branigan's Bounty and spoken with the hunter and his daughter, so the rest of the Concord stuff seems to be fine.

So I guess something stopped Edmund from talking to Jake initially and that's the reason he's broken.

I got the Pastor to start his big introduction speech using this console command: setstage 0b016301 3
That was after looking up the questID using this command: help "SS2C2_ConcordQuest_Edmund_IntroConvo" 4
He went through his dialog with my player, and now I have the "Attend one of the sermons" miscellaneous quests. I waited until 9 and it didn't start a sermon but there are 3 people (Branigan's crew) praying in the Church now, so . . . progress?
Will try this out. Have you noticed any adverse effects from doing this?

Checking the quest via console, i'm on stage 3 and Edmund only has the generic dialogue for me.

  • The conversation between Jake and Edmund happend
  • I did not have an Option to ask Jake who this guy was went back further, the option was there but I had to wait a good 10 seconds for edmund to move over to jake. (Initially Jake was just standing in the door and nothing was happening. Between 10-20 seconds later, he was standing in front of his crate, coffee mug in hand, thats when Edmund began moving over to jake for the conversation)

Setting the stage of the quest to 10 will cause edmund to talk to me.
After the conversation the quest stage was 15 and the misc Quest to attend a sermon was in my questlog

At Stage 15 i went to Sanctuary and slept in a bed for 3 days to see if the church was changing.
It did and the stage was 16:

Went to the church before 9PM, listened to a sermon and Stage is now 20

Yep, setting the quest stage to 10 finally got the Pastor speaking to me. Great stuff.
 
Anyone got any idea how to solve this on Xbox? 4 different new games, including a full fresh install and only the required ss2 mods (with creation club stuff) and I cannot get pastor Edmund to fire correctly.

I've managed to talk to him but no notes on the board and had him not taking to me.

Tried making him aggro, traveling away and waiting but nothing seems to make this work.

I want to experience everything in the mod bit it still seems not ready. Similar to chapter 1, where hub of the problem failed so often.

I think I'll have to wait until it's all solved, can't keep putting in multiple hours only for it to fail a quest.
 
I've still yet to replicate this. If any of you has a save file with Well, Well, Well complete, and Edmund having not done his intro - can you please post the .fos save file on a google drive or something similar, share it publicly, and DM me a link?
 
Hey Kinggath don't know if its related but after using start me up I get an error mentioning that SS2 failed to start, but I get a message mentioning the mod was resurrected afterwards. I am currently just finished Jake's intro quest so the triggers for the deathclaw and raiders with gristle started up without any issues. But a quick peek at the church from one of the windows without walking into the location, I noticed the paper that mentioned church services is already posted on the board even though Edmund has not shown up yet. I going to keep running this save file until Well Well Well and see if there are any issues, just another note I am using the latest update of SS2 Start me up.
Edit: Disregard my post I have finish the Well Well Well quest with the latest updated SS2 and Edmund greets you as soon as you entered the church. Looks like the issues I was having was from an old save from a previous playthrough which the bug was baked into. So, I think the church quest getting suck would not be an issue anymore with latest fixes.

I'm on SS2 2.1.3beta, according to Mod Manager, and I did not have Pastor Edmund spawn when Jake brought the Commhub back to Concord. Is there a way to make him spawn? Am I going to miss out on things?

report this to the devs cause the pastor ties into giving your a ss2 plot and into a concord quest line also inform them that the whole meet him at 9pm for a sermon needs to change cause npcs are set to sleep at 8pm so his service need to be moved from 9pm to at less 6pm-7pm (1 hour long) 7pm-8pm (1 hour confessional) also he doesn't seem to give the same perk bonus that the church in Dimond City gives when you visit it https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Quiet_Reflection

What would be the best way to contact them and report this?
 
He definitely didn't spawn at all? The "dialog sequence" with Jake seems to never trigger for me, but the Pastor will be just sitting inside the church he takes over...

are you on the new beta version or on the current version cause in the current version when i started the game he was with jake outside jake's shop with the yellow box and i had to wait for the whole 9pm service quest till he finished building the church
 
Thanks to anoother member of the forum (yaugie) I think this has been solved and can help alot of people. I know that this thread is pretty old but it might help a few people who have had the same problem; if you download and install Chapter 2, you will find Pastor Edmund hangning out in the church in Concord and you can start a conversation with him which will start attracting settlers to Concord.
So even if you didn't have him arrive at when Jake brings the Commhub back to Concord from Olivia, if you install Chapter 2 from Nexus he will spawn in the church.
 
I'm stuck with Attending the sermon. I don't yet have a quest marker for it but have quest markers from the community board.

I've tried various commands as suggested but keep getting errors such as
Expected end of line
Compiled script not saved
Missing parameter quest.

Could some kind person tell me exactly what I need to enter please?
