bible at pulpit...I didn't even know there was a Bible inside the church that the Player could take, and I've never seen Edmund there with Jake at the start of Well Well Well (and never been able to talk to Edmund full stop), so there must be another factor.
I can confirm your method somehow snaps the pastor out of whatever AI loop he is stuck in. I had to use enemy spawn grenades and have the raiders aggro both Jake and Edmund. After the battle he walks over and starts the required conversation with Jake before you go restore the power. But after restoring the power and completing that task. I still can't get Edmund to do his introduction dialogue even though the missing caravan mission has shown up on the board.So, fun fact, despite using the same load order as last time it wasn't working... it did this time? Including Edmund's introduction dialog.
I wonder if it's because it'd been long enough since I went back to Concord for the main street Raiders to have respawned, thus aggroing him too, which made his AI 'reset' or something? I don't know how any of that works.
Additional fun fact: The Brotherhood airdropped some Knights into Concord as Edmund was walking over to the church... exactly within the radius that the 'aoe fall damage' from one of the Knights aggroed Edmund.
Still weirds me out that the "initial dialog" with him includes one of the unlock points for Cemetery subclass plots... despite this being before you'd even HAVE Municipal Type plots available if you didn't already cheat.

He went through his dialog with my player, and now I have the "Attend one of the sermons" miscellaneous quests. I waited until 9 and it didn't start a sermon but there are 3 people (Branigan's crew) praying in the Church now, so . . . progress?

I went back to a save I made trying things like moving him around, shooting him, etc.
Checking the quest via console, i'm on stage 3 and Edmund only has the generic dialogue for me.

I did not have an Option to ask Jake who this guy waswent back further, the option was there but I had to wait a good 10 seconds for edmund to move over to jake. (Initially Jake was just standing in the door and nothing was happening. Between 10-20 seconds later, he was standing in front of his crate, coffee mug in hand, thats when Edmund began moving over to jake for the conversation)- I never looted the bible

Setting the stage of the quest to 10 will cause edmund to talk to me.
After the conversation the quest stage was 15 and the misc Quest to attend a sermon was in my questlog
At Stage 15 i went to Sanctuary and slept in a bed for 3 days to see if the church was changing.

are you on the new beta version or on the current version cause in the current version when i started the game he was with jake outside jake's shop with the yellow box and i had to wait for the whole 9pm service quest till he finished building the churchHe definitely didn't spawn at all? The "dialog sequence" with Jake seems to never trigger for me, but the Pastor will be just sitting inside the church he takes over...
