Not recognizing Pip boy with StartMeUp?

I got this mod and used Start me up to get into the game faster but when I try to activate the city manager holotape I get the error "Pipboy not found. unable to install auto-management tools, please load this tape into a pipboy unit."

Any ideas on how to fix? preferably without starting a new game.
