Hello!
So I've decided to do a playthrough using SSC. I've always been taking over the commonwealth as a minuteman in my head canon but now I would like to do it in game as well.
I have questions though. A couple things about this playthrough I hope will help, I like variety so the more options the better or at least enough randomization that I don't see repetition very often is preferred. I want to play through the main quest as well, I figured I should get to it at some point lol. This is more to add on to my playthrough not to be the central focus. I will be choosing to populate the settlements with random level city plans.

1. There are two(?) MM faction packs, would I pick the one that says it's specifically for Liberators? I think this is the one I saw recommended that won't break the MM quests?
2. To get a good variety of plots should I DL the mega packs (plots and city plans) or the other highly DL sets or both?
3. Other factions, should I DL more faction packs for adversaries?
4. What settlements do I need to keep vanilla so I don't break any quests.
5. Any other advice?

This is my initial list, too much or fine?

I'll do my best to answer your questions:

Yes, you should use the Minutemen Liberators faction pack, as it is specifically designed to work with the Minutemen quests and won't break them.

If you want more variety in your settlements, it's a good idea to download both the mega packs and the other highly downloaded sets. This will give you more options to choose from when building your settlements.

It's up to you whether or not you want to download more faction packs for adversaries. SSC already comes with several factions that can serve as enemies, but if you want even more variety, you can download additional faction packs.

As far as I'm aware, there aren't any settlements that you need to keep vanilla in order to avoid breaking quests. However, I would recommend not adding too many mods that change the same settlements, as this could potentially cause conflicts. It's always a good idea to read the mod descriptions and comments to see if there are any known conflicts or issues.

My advice would be to take your time and enjoy the process of building your settlements. Don't feel like you have to rush through everything in order to get to the main quest. Also, don't be afraid to experiment and try new things. Sim Settlements is a very flexible mod and there are many ways to approach building your settlements. Finally, make sure to read the mod descriptions and installation instructions carefully, and always back up your saves before installing new mods.
