Name one thing you'd like to change about Fallout 4 (as it is at the moment)?

Okay, so without going down the whole, "they should never have given us settlements" or "we don't get the chance to chose to be either good or evil", what silly thing should have been changed?

I'll start off with: How the hell do pistol versions of guns have better range than the rifle version?

Okay... I have one for starters. How come we have to constantly clear out baddie gangs? I mean, respawn in nice, but the idea that a couple raiders can waltz into Abernathy's and grab stuff is a stretch. Come on Blake.... you outgun them by a country mile and you don't know what to do?

Personally, i would like to see the game be more irie. Its seems so happy some times.

I wish they'd fix the darned settlement scripts. From the pathing to the crap behavior scripts to the really poorly optimized internals. The unofficial patch can only do so much.

That and I wish arrays could hold more than 128 values.

No silly farms - Tenpines Bluff, Somerville Place.

More established settlements.

Fortress of the Ten Pines is my current favorite overhaul for that dump, Somerville place is nice once you load the All Settlements Expanded that @Neeher did.

I wish power armor, would have been much much harder to repair and keep.... Every vanilla playthrough I have run, I end up with a power armor dump from all the frames and full sets I have extra... The way it was made, there is no reason why Raiders even need to make their own power armor.... it's everywhere, you already have the power cell, jump in a new set and go....

To fix this in modded games I use the mod Scarcity to make power armor parts more precious, and harder to repair....

Finding out it was 210 years after the bombs fell... trashed well.. everything.
Silly... Bloat flies or Radroaches carrying around a Fatman or hunting rifle
getting 1 or 2food from a Deathclaw or other large animals.
You can pick up a bear but not a skeleton..
No bull brahmans...
210 year old bags of usable cement
Settlers that have survived the wasteland but can't build a bed or plant crop
The entire "Settlement Attack" system.
NPC navigation.

I know it gets harped on a lot, but I still hate the dialog wheel with an undying passion. It limits dialog expansion too much and situational dialog is very difficult to accomplish without removing functionality from an NPC. For an RPG I find that almost inexcusable

A more efficient renderer!!!!

Oh God, that blurry, headache-inducing AA! If I could push one mod into Fo4, it wouldn't be the unofficial patch. It would be some method of LumaSharpen. Fallout's simply unplayable without it (and I don't get motion sick playing games. Until vanilla F04.)

Another thing (well this is a sort of multiple thing) that gets me is the story in the Institute (e.g. lack of scrip writing or maybe droped ideas).
The scientist in Bioscience talking about how the people on the surface are still people and not being able to talk with him further about that.
Not being able to try to arrange a date for the young scientist in Bioscience with Rosalind.
The scientist who later on locks himself in Bioscience, say earlier on how the Institute shouldn't be relying on machines to do the work for them and not being able to further that conversation.
Also, the talk that Liam Benet's father is having when you go into Robotics, about synth's might have souls and again you can't follow up on it.

Too be honest, I really think that the original idea was that the Lone Survivor would have been able to use the Institute for Good, but I think Bethesda just ran out of time.

Are we talking about pet peeves here? Because if so, my pet peeve is about Fallout 4's guns, and how their ejection port/magazines/bolt are located on the left side of the gun instead of being on the right. We somehow went from the realistic-ish guns in 3 and New Vegas to this painfully innacurate mess.

Enjoy warm casings in your face, Sole Survivor. Grr.

Lots of mods that sort it out now....... :)
