Question Multiple faction barracks in same settlement

If multiple faction barracks of the same faction are built in the same settlement, any additional after the first would not produce any defense. Is that correct?

Example: No other settlements built
1. Red Rocket first Minuteman (lvl 3), 50 base defense* and 20 happiness Consumes 12 Food and 12 Water.
2. Red Rocket second Minuteman (lvl 3), 0 base defense and 20 happiness Consumes 12 Food and 12 Water.
3. Red Rocket third Minuteman (lvl 3), 0 base defense and 20 happiness Consumes 12 Food and 12 Water.

For a total of 50 base defense from all 3?
 
Yes they are settlement-unique, although if you start upgrading more than one at a time you can build multiple in a settlement. However, the code I use for the dynamic defense value will only recognize the first one built.
 
Any thoughts about making a version that multiples could be built in the same settlement, but giving standard defense values instead of breaking the dynamic defense formula. That or bringing back the older mercenary guards from the Industrial plot?

I don't know if anyone else does this, but I loved building multiple barracks instead of dropping multiple turrets in a settlement. They added roving firepower in an attack, and really gave the feeling it was fortified against all the threats.
 
I try to build several barics in my larger trade hub settlements (SLDI, Bunker Hill, and Evans Way{MOD}, and Longfellows Cabin), usualy BoS (or Institute, depending on how I play that life) and MM with a MM & RR at were ever the safehouse ends up. I would realy like a CoA and posably a Harborman barics. im holding off on a new playthrue hoping for them.
