I saw the various Clay / Dirt / etc foundations, thought they were a cool idea, had no idea where to get their mats until I randomly got the Excavation Pit and suddenly they were buildable. Maybe I missed the info somewhere else (or another source of their mats), but maybe the description of the terraforming foundations could mention that you need the Pit to get their mats?

Maybe the below can help.

There is really so many things you can do with sim Settlements other than city plans. It is almost overwhelming so it is set up as you become more aware and more interested in the manual side of modifying your experience that they become apparent.

The wiki and videos are things I am always going back too as I am a very manual player and though I have spent thousands of hours using the mod I am still finding out new things about it. Still, a good percentage of users don’t care they just want the settlers to do it. Thus, the deeper dimensions of the mod become apparent as the user becomes more involved in the manual game play.

this is a somewhat unheralded feature of simsettlements, but its a great thing. for starters, it has allowed me to free up two other mods (grounded and ground which i used previously to flatten out uneven terrain).

with this feature, i can build plots and allow them to level out the terrain they''re on, and i can add ground clutter to the areas to blend it with the existing environment. as i don't use any kind of scrap tool (I like my fps), this feature really helps me with some overly cluttered or sloping locations.

Kudos to the people behind this.
