So I was musing about the mist within Croup manor by the 1st floor staircase and 2nd floor landing, and see that you can select its ID in the console.
Is it possible, both in the competition and in reality (as in will it go/stay there for others in my cityplan), to "setpos Z -1000" so the mist is effectively gone?

Try disabling it with the disable command see if it repeats it when you build your city plan.

If not, you can still probably pull it off with custom scrap profiles by disabling that in your Full Scrap Profile. You can learn about what those are, and how to make them, in the addon tutorials at https://wiki.simsettlements2.com

I tested with just using a layout import Yay! Creating a scrap profile with the mist disabled appears to work. (and I had the mists disabled in my plan layouts)
However using the custom scrap profile is now leaving behind many of the objects (those the player can pick up and mannequin) floating/laying in their various positions.
I have tried individually scrapping them and using the "Scrap Settlement" option from the workshop bench.
(I could always advise users to run the Scrap Settlement function prior to activating the city plan, but would prefer not to)

Is there something I'm missing or doing wrong to capture these items in the scrap profile?

A couple of days of testing and failing - using the same Scrap Profiles and Layout exports the Layout import will get rid of the mist, but the city plan won't. It appears the other items now being removed, but some of the objects that I used Place Everywhere's "Ins" function on will go and some stay. For example the plywood over the bay windows go but the planks there stay.
Therefore I give up :) it can turn out however it likes, otherwise I will never make the deadline.

So did you ever test layout exports with the setpos z -1000 approach? If so how does that differ from disable?

I did disable one of the large tires down by the shore (outside the build zone) as I didn't want to just cover it with stuff to hide it and that seemed to work
Haven't tried the shifting the mist yet.
