Library Living (Boston Library Settlement mod)

Hello SS forums! (I wasn't sure where this should be posted so i'm starting here)

I had recently tried to get the [Library Living] mod (will refer to it as LL from here out) to work with my current new Sim Settlements play through but was unable to. It kept breaking my game save when both SS and LL were together. Since I had no problems before adding LL I decided to ask the mod maker on their mod page about suggestions on compatibility practices. This is the short conversation that took place after I did a bit of research.

And this was Ragoda's final reply before locking the thread: https://i.imgur.com/gL6qPkl.png

Something smells fishy on both ends here. I just wanted a Boston library settlement but since I went this far I was wondering what the SS's communities side of this situation is.

Sounds to me like the only "fix" is for you or another mod author to rebuild the mod since the original mod author doesn't seem interested in trying

Which is a shame, the Boston library is such a terribly underused location which would be amazing for an inside settlement. I was actually thinking of making it a themed one for the Brotherhood of Steel, as a throw back to fallout 3's library outpost.

Having a bunch of scribes and knights working to protect all the various forms of information as well as compacting it into smaller disks with the special computer in the back. (if you don't know, look up Boston Library Cut Content Fallout 4)

Lore friendly and amazingly relevant, its just too good to pass up. If only there were a settlement mod that would get it to work though... q.q

I know there was an old mod (conquest I think) that basically allowed you to throw down a workshop anywhere. That might work, but I don't know details of the mod since I have never used it.

I looked into those kinds as well but many posts warned that they do not handle well either. Would be cool if there was a list of Settlement mods that are approved/well tested for use with SS.

The best clues to look out for are what type of locations are used.
Just browsing through that authors files tells me a lot of his settlements are going to be problematic as he creates them far, far too close to existing vanilla settlements. That's a huge red flag to me for any other work they release.

Maybe that could be one of the competitions? The modders here seem to be quite knowledgeable, maybe they could have a competition in making a settlement out of select interior locations like the Boston library, vault 95, etc?

Brah, I would love that. Interior settlements are nice because they only load once you go to em so no over world fps drops exploring near a settlement if you do highly packed ones like me. Plus, without all the other over world stuff suuuucking up all your render resources in the engine, interior settlements could be EXTRA packed.
Super production settlements yes? (I use mechanist workshop to make an industrial scrap processing complex with robots. No water or food needed, just power, security, plots, and robots!)

I am not endowed with mod creation skills though, and between work and family the time to actually learn is limited. I deeply enjoy many a modders work and am grateful they spend time doing them. Fixing and adding things that allow me to tailor the game the way I like it!
