Layer handle not picking up entire layer?

So I cleaned out my settlement, created a new layer, started building my building. Got it just the way I wanted it, put a layer handle down, and the layer handle highlighted, idk, six or ten pieces and then gave up? The building involves something like 70 pieces, so this is less than useful. Placing the layer handle again picked up a different set of pieces but still not the whole thing. Halp? @kinggath ?

All of the pieces are from the Snappy Housekit, except for power conduits (i did not put down wires, just conduits).

Sounds like the items never were added to the layer. Do you happen to recall if they were highlighting purple as you built them?

Okay, so answering my own question, I think, I needed to wait longer for the layer to figure itself out. However, when I tried to clone the layer, something exploded. Seriously, building parts EVERYWHERE.

So I did a blueprint, which was okay and caught everything, but when I built from the blueprint, it was stuck in the foundation, which was an unpleasant learning experience. I had, however, managed to put the new building on a new layer, so I put a handle on that new layer and moved it that way. Still a frustrating learning experience, but then again, most new graphic design is.

(and yes, I was very careful with that first building--it was all one one layer and the only thing on that layer.)

Weird thing... I'd put down a few things, changed my mind, deleted them... and they showed up in the blueprint anyway. So that was exciting. I can't remember if that happened with clone or with blueprint. I suspect Scrap Everything, since it only sorta scraps things (IE they will come back if you delete the mod).

Also, I'm on a laptop that does NOT have a solid state hard drive, yet. So I think it just needs more time.

The layer number should be red if it isn't finished selecting. It won't ever finish until you exit workshop mode if you have the time freeze option on.
