Jammer's Walk

I had Jammer go walkabout and ended up at Egret. Complained about Gunners, then nothing. Reloaded, did some console legwork and got him to start walking to my actual outpost at Zimonja. He gave me some more info, and all was good. When I returned to Zimonja, however, although all of my initial raiding party lived, there were piles of raider recruit corpses there. Maybe the Gunners did actually attack there? Didn't see any Gunner bodies, but the game may have cleaned them up along the way? I returned to the vassal (Tenpines), but no raiders were there guarding - not sure if a few were supposed to remain to guard like they do for Nuka World.

I have a few suggestions for Conqueror that I intend to put in that forum.

i tried pulling to me in new base and can't figure out the mission code to forward or reset stage could it be conflicting with a altstart mod i have

I had the same problem with Jammer going AWOL... first he wandered to Abernathy, where he complained about Gunners. I searched everywhere, but no Gunners to be found. Then I traveled to my Outpost at Sunshine, but also no Gunners there. Meanwhile, Jammer had wandered off to Vault 88, which was really funny since I hadn't discovered it yet, so he somehow managed to get through the Vault door and the debris and entomb himself with Overseer Barstow.

So I dug down and found him, used the console to advance the quest, and he proceeded with giving me missions. I set up a slaver run for Abernathy, headed over... and realized that mixed among the civilians were a pack of Gunners, which proceeded to kill me. Perhaps the Gunners are spawning at the wrong quest stage?

Maybe. But settlers will hire guards to help defend from you also. So it could be that the Abernathy;s hired some gunners as well. Cause when I go looking for "help," I often got some monkey brained gunners to put full of holes. Hard to really say on that I suppose!

Here's a potential fix for the Jammer wandering issue. It might do no good on your saves that are past the first two raids, but if you have one from before you started running the assaults with him, this should fix his AI for those of you running into trouble.

Tried this. I rolled back to just before I was given the quest to kill Tower Tom. Killed Tom, got the quest to take an outpost, chose Starlight. Easy raid into Starlight lvl 2, started to walk back to Jammer but he was walking over by Abernathy. Tried to catch him, but game crashed 1/2 way to Abernathy.

Reloaded. Decided to just wait/sleep at Starlight for 12 hours to see what Jammer would do. He ended up at the same settlement he did with the prior version of Conqueror - Egret. Used prid and moveto so he would arrive at my location. He had his chat about needing food, I said to hit Abernathy, he said fine and started walking south again. :(

Prior to that, I had over 16 hours played with few crashes, and those two were during a raid on Abernathy and Taffington - raid started, a wee bit into the game froze and the CTD.

btw, I use Vortex. I disabled the prior version, and then deleted it and the archive. Manually downloaded (obviously) from your Drive, manual install, reran loot which put it back in the same place as it was prior. I didn't mind testing this as my game started to go bad. Getting close to any settlement caused crash, even one's where I had turned them to vassal or slave outpost.

still nope all he says is somthing you wanted and so on now im trying a new game to see if it works but i crashed and i need to bed will check when i get up

I just posted another fix that should even restore a save that got into a bad state with Jammer. I'm using some bruteforce methods to detect things going sideways and just forcing Jammer where he belongs and fixing his quest.

Vortex says there is a file conflict with this latest attempt at a fix and Workshop (config.json). I chose to have this file be priority since it's an attempt at a fix. I will rerun my above scenario the same so I set it up apples for apples.

There seems to be a new config.json in the beta

Would this only work on a fresh start?
I installed the beta, went to a save just before I turned in the beantown kill mission for Jammer, he still exhibited the same behavior of wandering off after I took over the first outpost.

It's hard to say.

The issue we have here, is that I don't exactly know which point people are getting stuck at, or what is even causing it for sure. So all I can do is try and guess based on the anecdotes I'm reading. There's a good chance, some other mod out there is messing with the AI package bad enough that you do need to restart.

None of our testers is experiencing this issue, and I'm certainly not (or I would have delayed release). So it's a difficult thing to try and resolve.

Ran the same scenario and carried it a bit after. Deleted first attempted fix you provided, installed new one. Killed Tower Tom, chose Starlight again for our first outpost. Went smoothly, but Jammer headed west to Abernathy and then south. Slept a few hours to see where he would end up - right back to the Marina for me. He seems to love the Marina. I used prid and moveto, he and I talked about food, I chose Abernathy. That raid went smoothly, I walked back to Starlight and waited a few hours to see where Jammer ended up as he had gone walkabout again (this time east and south). He ended up right back to the Marina. Prid and moveto, Jammer started to talk then said Gunners were going to attack. The Gunners showed up at Starlight in a few moments, killed them. Jammer was already heading south. I talked to him on the road, he said Gunners were _________, and that I needed more recruits. Gave him some booze, he walked off to the south. So basically the same as before. At the beginning during the vault exit I think, the game had said Egret was my settlement - any relation this to this problem?

For reference, I do have NPC Pack Attack installed but with the compat for Sim Settlements set to On so settlers have their normal settler behaviors. <-- issue?

I've done 3 fresh restarts (with the released version) so far and hes gone to a different place each time, it has always been a settlement though, he never wandered off into oblivion or just went aimlessly. I am not using pack attack (never meshed well with sim settlements for me, I assume because of the heavy scripting.). I think the only mod I have that has wandering NPCs would be tales from the commonwealth, I guess we are the minuteman might add some patrols but I'm not sure if they even kick in with no minuteman settlements. Other mods are fusion city, outcasts and remnants, project Valkyrie, unique npcs (creatures and monsters) everything else is clothing, looks, settlement object addons.

My Jammer keeps going to the same spot. Jamaica Plain. I installed the beta 2.0 but the game keeps crashing as i approach(in a Vertibird) Jammer while he is there. My outpost is Zimonja. I also am having a hell of a time trying to figure out how to teleport Jammer to me.

I saw that there was a fix for this on PC, is there anything on Xbox to fix this yet or will it be in the next update
Next update. I've been waiting for consistent results before posting an update. So far, no dice as a lot of people are still having the issue with my fixes - which is bizarre.

@Apex.Panda Can you run

sqv kgconq_raidergang

Then page up and look for MainOutpost and tell me what it's set to? (should be an 8 digit hex code), same with OutpostWorkshops, this should be a comma separated list of 8 digit hex codes.

Confirming for Xbox same issue. Got as far as took over Red Rocket first mission, then got mission to vassal Abernathy, it kind of glitched in that I couldn't subdue civilians once down, I only had execute option on downed civilians, but could complete the quest if everyone died. Jammer then wanders to Counry Crossing, mentions Gunners but right after no further dialogue. I'm going to try going straight to RR after he mentions Gunners or Abernathy and see if Gunners show up and then go back to him.
