Hi folks - just a couple quick questions for some of the early choices so I don't lock myself out of the raider options, but still be able to feel like the main questline isn't too out of character. Plan is to start off just mean and selfish at first, but not go full raider until I meet Shaun (or maybe post-Prydwyn arrival). I figure this also gives me a chance to level up before taking on the conqueror role.

1. Do I have to kill Preston in Concord? or can I keep him for a bit first? (not a big deal either way, but don't want to mess up after over an hour of gameplay)

2. What is travel like between outposts in survival with mods that allow fast travel between settlements? in other words: Does Journey still work, or should I install something else like Subways of the Commonwealth + Redwave, or something similar, or should I bite the bullet and install a fast travel enabled mod and try to refrain from abusing it?

:bye

1. You don't have to kill them.

2. hahahaha, I cringe every time I get this question, and know nothing about thous mods. Sorry :rollseye but what I do:

I install: GCM - https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/33759

and set-up the game at "very hard". Then use the GCM to make it "a-killer".

Then just walk. Fast Travel I try to reserve for testing. :pardon

A-bit different but when I use to use SurMode I would install mods to nerf-survival. The above is just reverse psychology. I make Very-Hard, harder than survival with GCM that way I can adjust to me and my mods and playthrough. :friends

Ha, Ha! Glad to hear that I can ease into being a raider. trying to keep from being too spoiled on the story line, but don't want to break it, either. Thanks for the quick reply.

As far an the second question, I'll probably play it by ear, start with a few travel mods and see how it goes. I find it very hard to not abuse fast travel if it's available :punish.

PS. er. How do I change the tag to answered?

If it was a bug we could change it. As for questions as good as yours, we leave them up for everyone to see. :bye Never know who would want to know the same thing:friends

I changed the tag to Solved just so Kinggath doesn't roll by trying to answer a question that has already been answered. :)
