Yeah the actual plots themselves won't be in any of those sub-menus. The quest is supposed to add "residential plots" to that list for you to select and build from but for some reason it hasn't done that.

Its likely due to a conflict with another mod or an improper load order. Like Cessori said you should post your plugin list so we can look at it to try and locate the issue. I can assure you that its not SS2 causing the problem as I've just recently started a new save and had no issues getting Jake to show up.

please try not to judge me poorly for some of the mods listed in my load order

i do have some merge patches in this load order btw also i tried to figure out how to create a load order using modwatch but i couldnt figure it out so i gave up here is a copy of my loadorder.txt of the mods i use

Its your version of Start Me Up. You're not using the original mod you're using the Redux version right? Well on the mod page description at the very bottom for the redux version it says SS2 isn't fully compatible with the mod. I know it says that its "kind of compatible" but the mod author mentions something about how leveling at character creation won't work and that they're considering making a patch to get the two mods to play nice together. In my opinion if it was just a problem with dialogue not matching your chosen alternate start it wouldn't really need a patch. I'm using the original Start Me Up mod and I've had no issues.

I'd guess that's your culprit right there. Try removing it on a fresh save and seeing if you can get SS2 to function normally. If it works then you have your answer.

lucky me i still have a copy of the original start me up to test if thats the problem i'll get back to ya'll in a bit once i do some testing

ok i tried the original ver. of start me up and yet again it didnt work do any of ya know if homemaker is compatible with ss2 if not then i have no clue what could be the cause
before i try removing homemaker im going to try starting a new save

update sooo sense i last updated this post i tried using og start me up and when i did for some reason my game started crashing when i tried to start a new character i checked my ini files and nothing that seems off so now im just reseting my data folder to see if that fixes it

ok so update time i disabled homemaker and so i've tried everything to get ss2 to work and im still having the same problem where the game seems to not recognize that i have gotten the asam sensor and there for wont add the plots thing to my settlement builder at this point im pretty sure that nothing i do will fix my sim settlements 2. i have one last idea and this may sound crazy but do i have to do the concord quest for this to work correctly if not then i have no idea what could fix this

The concord quest is required for the next part of this quest, should always let you build residential before that. But, worth a shot.

Having the same issue! Did you manage to find a fix?
are you having the same issue? it sounds like the original posters problem was a bad version of an alternative start mod. what mods do you have? what behavior are you having? anything more specific then "+1" could be helpful finding your issue and helping you get over it. you should start a new thread with what behavior you are seeing.

My load order is quite long since it's made up of a lot of ESL flagged ESPs, but this is the first time I've run into this issue with SS2. I don't have any of the mods on the Known conflicts page, but in Sanctuary if I make a recruitment beacon, speak to Jake and receive an ASAM sensor from him, and open the Workshop, I don't have any sub-menu for Plots in the SS2 menu. The furthest left option is Furniture, much like what's pictured and described here.

I didn't notice the asam on the plot? could that just be a foundation? my eyes are kindof tired so I could've missed it.

yeah and i cant even figure out how to put down a asam so i cant progress at all due in part to the fact that i cant even find the asam in the sim settlement sub menu
You don't place the ASAM. It's confusing, but just pick any kind of plot and built it (e.g., a residential plot) and that will count as "placing" the ASAM.
