I have decided to give Jamaica Plain a shot!

I tried, but it's essentially just a non-functional prop and adding in raw lighting props doesn't illuminate the area enough to my liking. As the president would say, 'Sad!'

I'll figure something out, even if I have to get crafty with greebs and wires to put in a hanging lightbulb!

There are various light sources in Blueprint that could be added to a non functioning lamp post to make it appear to be giving off the light.

Another question (just to ensure my thread is the longest one on here, lol), the guard creator under Project Blueprint > Special > Spawners, does this create an NPC mercenary or something that doesn't count to the pop. limit of the settlement? Or does it do something else entirely?

when a leader spawns in guards ,they will use those guard markers . I think ;)

And now, the rest of the work. Exporting the build via TSB and downbuilding the settlement!

Question for the moderators, have I done everything necessary and put everything in the correct location in order to enter the contest?

Yes that's fine.
once in house voteing is done Kinggath or myself will get in touch with you and let youknow what happens then. So make sure you have all your levels saves or json files for each leve ready ;)

Hi Harkness. I'm using this city plan for Jamaica Plain in my current play through. It's building nicely and up to lvl2 at the moment. I'm just chasing up some general bed issues I'm having across various city plans. Could you let me know how many residential/ non-plot beds there should be at this level please? I have it showing a max pop of 14, with all 14 recruited I have 11 res plots but no beds, just wanted to check what there should be.

There are two beds at the base of the windmill tower, in a wee shack. There's a couch in the main house, ground floor opposite the stairs which should have a sleeping animation on it which counts as a bed, and then immediately outside the south door of the house, underneath the wooden platform and in front of the skip bin. There should be a mattress there.

So then, wait, that should be a max pop of 15 (four beds, eleven plots)? Did I bugger something up?

Thanks for the info. And no I don't think you did anything wrong. Looks like there maybe some issues with non plot beds not properly counting properly for population and/or generating properly. The two beds at the base of the tower are just the statics so far when my game built it (and no other non-plot beds). I'm off to try and do some testing now I have some more info.
Do you remember if when you ran the holotape checker did it show your non-plot beds as a correct count such?

try rebuild local data from the config options in tools >city holotape

Tried that out with a few scenarios. Doesn't make any difference to miscalculated max populations or bed generation. Tried running before using the competition settlement check and it still doesn't detect beds (vanilla, plus PBP beds & bed markers), which are detected with the mark beds function.

What other city plans is the bed count of for you?

when I was doing the json files for Jamaica I had a bit of trouble getting the beds to show up and had to redo the export a few times,

There's a thread discussing this in the comp help section. I've had issues with every plan with beds I've tried to build. Also issues with misreporting of beds & work items in the settlement checker.

Hey just here to make this thread a little longer ;) hahaha but seriously you did a great job with this city plan, I am looking forward to using it in my playthrough. I was hoping you could point me to any add-on packs / other mods you may have used in this build so that my playthroughs jamaica can best represent what you created. Thanks in advance!

Honestly, this was my first contest entry and I was only using plots from the base SS mod. I think the only one additional expansion pack I used was IDEK's Logistics Station. I encourage you to experiment with the many, many add-on packs though! There's some top quality content out there!
