Works as intended I can't get the ASAM from West Everett's basement!

Wish they was a bit more clearer from the beginning. I usually just kill all mutants. Maybe there should have been a branching line at this point where I get to take all of the ASAM they have after I clean house.

I had the same issue, couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do since I cleared the area and all I found was the vague note from Nail, which doesn't give you a quest marker if you pick it up yourself, and some sensors I couldn't take. At the time I assumed the implication was supposed to be that Nail had taken the sensors somewhere else, and came to check the forums since I couldn't figure out where to find him (I assumed it would be referring to somewhere in the area, not so far away).

I had no idea the super mutants in the basement were meant to be talked to, since there's no real indication that they won't be hostile (Especially since they're in a location full of hostile super mutants). Since my mod setup makes super mutants quite dangerous and I was a bit low level to be fighting with them at this point, I was being very careful and trying to take them out from a distance when possible. I'd already had to kill a handful of hostile mutants outside, so I took out the first one from the top of the stairs while I was still hidden, which apparently broke the quest and made them all hostile (The objective remained active but the marker disappeared, picking up the note didn't trigger anything, and activating the asam sensors also didn't do anything).

I'm having issues with the quest as well. The quest marker is with this mutant Sickle who's been at Sanctuary since the start of my new play through. I've tried talking to him but nothing happens. I just went to West Everett and killed all the mutants. That Sickle guy is still at Sanctuary.

I went into the basement...super mutants were hostile. Decided to leave as one had a minigun and no way was I going to take on a super mutant with a minigun in an enclosed space. Clearing Sat Station Olivia was difficult enough with that minigun raider, Am I supposed to clear the estates first?

I have this problem as well, except I didn't kill them in advance, I spoke to them. When they asked what I was doing I answered "just looking around." When they asked what I was looking for I answered "Your moma." They didn't take kindly to my joke....

Anyway this is in bad need of an alternate route where you can kill them. Ruins immersion if you can't kill the mutants. Especially after insulting their moms.

Agreed, this confused me to hell as well. There's absolutely no hint that you should not kill these mutants, plus the quest stays in your log after "failing" so I ran around there for quite some time trying to find the ASAMs.

Also agree, cleared the place out and now I have to reload the save, if killing the muties isn't intended, perhaps make those two in particular permanently passive and "essential"?

EDIT: Also noticed on the restart that in the cutscene one sees Hammer, a bit hard since I blew his head off outside... :(

You kill Hammer 2 times first outside if you clean the old Settlement and then after you have done the favour for Sickle.Hammer get agro after you deliver the news that his Brother is death.
