Hub of the Problem? More like Basement of Confusion!

I honestly reloaded my save more times than I care to admit because I thought that something had broken in the Vault-Tec basement. It's very clever what you have to do, but if you just happen not to look at the right part of the room and see that a normally non-interactable object has a prompt, you can wind up stuck and thinking something bugged out. The problem here is that you get no feedback from Jake, which makes him seem broken.

What I'd suggest is just adding a couple lines of dialogue here. Preferably one for when you poke him normally, just to know that his AI is still working, and definitely some kind of response for when you've found the holotape that gives you a nudge in the right direction. Something like, "Hey, let me take a listen to that. Sub-basement, huh? Well, I didn't see any more buttons on the elevator...maybe we oughtta look for another way down. See if any of this stuff has somethin' under it."
 
I made it down to the sub-basement (thanks to this thread) and could see I had to get power to the hub. Found several items with "activate" prompts, but activating did nothing. Then I realized Jake hadn't followed me down, so I went back out and had a conversation with him. That "unlocked" the next steps and I could proceed.
 
I thought I was stuck at the same stage of this quest. All I had to do was talk to Jake and confess that I had no clue. Afterwards the quest continued. Short remark to the authors: It's very strange to find switches not working, even that seemingly very important circuit breaker and find out later that all you have to do is talking to an NPC before to make all the equipment work.
 
Now I'm really stuck at the stage "look for clues for ASAM technology". As a fallout veteran, my attempt is to search for new areas as soon as I have access to it. Also, loot everything that might be interesting. So I picked the lock to the room with the three safes before the just mentioned quest triggered. Also picked the safe, tried to listen to the holotape in the already open safe, but nothing happened but the holotape not activating, slipping out of my hand and falling onto the pallet and then disappearing underneath it. Now that I should look for clues for ASAM technology I have the quest marker in the now empty safe and no access to the lost holotape. That's really frustrating . . .

Hmm... Jake didn't come into the building with me at all, just my other companion - guessing the multi-companion mod may be messing up the code logic?

Been loving SS2 so far, Jake's Questline is great! but the amount of re-loads i've had to do to get to "Hub of the Problem" has been short of a nightmare. Also moving plots and them leaving Electical poles..

And can now officially say im also stuck on this quest, First issue was Jake not moving away from the starting position to the HQ building, Then he got stuck on the terminal and wouldnt talk, Now im stuck in the basement 99% done, But stuk with "Investigate the lead jake received" & "Search the Vault-Tec Regional HQ" that wont complete after doing all the basement objectives and leaving the building.. Also cant find the questID to reset the quest in console
Same issue here, I listen to the tape and nothing happens, Jake won't talk to me and the button doesn't do anything

Edit SPOILER: I didn't realize the toilet was an essiantial part of moving forward in the quest

I am having issues with this quest as well. I walk up to the front door to Vault-Tec Regional Headquarters and everything seems fine. Once I enter the building however Jake starts saying a line but turns around and walks back to the door to outside. Once outside, he just idles in the little rest area in front of the HQ building. This happens both with and without a companion with me.

lastet update (vers: 1.0.13a) has fixed the issue of the quest "hub of problems". Better choose an earlier save (prior entering the subbasement) and restart the mission all together.
 
IMHO Jake should be changed so he at least says something along the of "Did you check everything in the other rooms" instead of just stand there saying nothing, as it does give the impression that the quest has glitched, it'd make it a more 'polished' looking mod
 
The 1.0.13a update specifically addresses that particular bug, I had that exact same bug (Jake stuck at the terminal and the objectives don't complete) and the 1.0.13a update fixed it. Have you installed that update?
