Couldn't focus on homework due to a headache, so instead I spent like three hours figuring out how to make a specific set of mods work together so I could use the Metro Mega Patch. Totally a more reasonable thing to be putting my effort into, right?

Oh... That's how it's going to be, is it?

I'm doing this particular playthrough with the Zombie Walkers mod, too, carefully configured to minimize the likelihood of crash-inducing corpse- and script-pileups.

Gotta keep an eye on my gas mask's durability. Gotta keep seeking out warmth on a regular basis. Gotta keep an eye out for zombies around every corner. Oh, and SKK's Combat Stalker mod is throwing things my way every little while, too. I'm only an hour and a bit in so far; just took Starlight Drive-In for my HQ in Jammer's questline.

Sunset is even more ominous, and to make matters more challenging, even in Workshop mode I'm vulnerable to the cold and my gas mask filters run down. This is going to be a very different experience over all, I think.

Try SKK Random Encounters yet?

And from your pictures, looks like you need to do Sanguine Vampire Overhaul Mod... :)

SKK RE is in the load order, but I haven't turned it on in the holotape yet. I'm trying to ease myself into this a bit; make sure I have a handle on the basics of survival before turning up the difficulty knob. I've also been cautioned at least once to be careful combining Zombie Walkers with other mods that spawn stuff in, so I want to make sure I've got a moderately established save to fall back to if things go wrong.

Is that an existing mod, or one you're suggesting be created?

Specific to Zombie Walkers, I had read that it was "broken"? Have you seen this?

Also, has anyone tried the SKK Fallout 4 - 76 - where NPC's, unless protected, are gone? Seems... odd to me.

You mean essential npc's ?
Frost does something similar, removes every quest and every vanilla npc.
It's probably the most difficult overhaul out there, it's brutal.

How do dust storms from True Storms look in a winter overhaul?
Honestly not sure if I've encountered one yet. I can say that radstorms (or similar weather) look like the sun suddenly increasing to blistering-summer-day intensity; the whole world takes on a warm orange glow and the rad counter starts spiking dangerously. It's the only time the day actually looks like day, and it feels weird to feel afraid of the light. It does cause the ambient temperature to spike, though, and has saved me from mild hypothermia on a couple occasions as a result.

Awesome, thanks! I wasn't able to find it when I searched.

As for Zombie Walkers being broken, it's... well, it's more a matter of the mod overreaching in a few areas, I think. The first time I played it I used it on maxed out settings and bad things tended to happen a lot. One game setting tweak helped fix that a bit, at the expense of bodies disappearing quickly (console command is setgs iHoursToClearCorpses 1 if I'm remembering correctly). This time, I've disabled the Horde AI (which I'm told leaned on running scripts to affect all pathing decisions?), turned off Headshot Kills Only (though it seems like some script still triggers one hit kills on headshots provided it isn't backed up, in which case it becomes unreliable and takes a couple seconds before kicking in, if it decides to work at all), and minimized the conditions in which zombies can spawn (only replacing preexisting skeletons at a 1:1 ratio and replacing Feral Ghouls at a 3:1 ratio, up to a cap of 25 zombies at any given time). Basically, I slammed it as hard as possible in the opposite direction. There's probably a safe middle ground, which I'll try to find over time. Slowly ramping to that helps with the feeling of increasing difficulty the longer I play, too.

Edit: I really want to be playing more right now so that I can get a few more wicked screenshots, but I had to go in to school four hours before my only class of the day to meet with group members. Only another four hours to go before I get home - meaning another eight to ten before I can play. :/

Here's some things I've been working on. I rebuilt the same style of walkway to my Abernathy house . This time sans trees.... those will go in later. ENH20191126194044_1.jpg

Abernathy mall... the foundations for all these structures are the 3x3 pilings. The wood railings are from G2M. Settller housing is on the left strip. Stores are in the center, and a couple industrial plots are on the right.

So, tonight, I kinda wandered into the wrong part of town... ScreenShot14.png ScreenShot15.png ScreenShot16.png
Did you know that if you replace every feral ghoul in Jamaica Plain with three zombies and every skeleton with one that it results in more entities than the AI processing can operate at once? I have no idea how it didn't crash, but I'm quite happy it didn't. It actually hit the point as I was fighting my way into town that I could see bodies being removed every time I killed a new zombie.

Ok, it starts like this.
You're having a nice meal to start a beautiful day.
No one is around to bother you and it is "a good thing."

Then you know who shows up.

you know who.jpg

Acting all innocent.
yeah, right!
roll.jpg

Pretends to be looking - ha!
But, he is just waiting to make the move.

Yep, he is in position for "the Dog-move."

Then the you know what.jpg

"Dog Move" sprung!

Dog Move.jpg

NOW, comes the full-on "you going to eat that guilt trip!"
You try to not make eye contact as that for sure will get you the "whine of ultimate sorrow.

Guilt.jpg

Ok, now the Dog is getting angry.
If you are not eating it and still not going to give it to him.
We'll then. There is only one thing for a Dog to do.

Yep, that is correct. Sit on your breakfast.

Hopefully, that is what he is doing? :dogmeat:

Bad Dogmeat, no you wouldn't!

Yes, yes you would! :shok1
:poo:

At this point, either way, Dog wins and gets your leftovers.

:aye: Happy Fallout 4 Thanksgiving everyone! :giver:

W....T.....F.... are you doing @RayBo ???

Now have Ivy do that! :) :)

NO more looksMenu for old Raybo.

My new bartender at my NukaCola bar.

So my Nuclear Winter/Zombie Walkers save died a slow death, and eventually hit a point where it reliably crashed within three minutes of loading. So, time for a new save! ScreenShot18.png
Welcome to Vault Deathbringer! It's not much to look at yet, but it's a solid place for those new recruits to get up to speed. Once you enter, you don't leave until you're ready for the front lines. Beds on the right, gun ranges on the left.

Oh, and stay out of the Overboss' house. Apparently she's just waiting for someone to screw up so she can start "decorating".
This build location is Uituit's Forgotten Vault: Into Darkness.
