Suggestion Faction Decorations

I like the fact that they exist and make the settlements more themey. However I do not like the fact they just start appearing randomly anywhere they want.

Could they be changed to a more meaningful thing? I really dont want to get rid of them entire with the option to turn them off. Yet I would like to see some sort of incentive for a player to actually use them.

Like say each quest, raid, etc you perform gives you X unique items. Then those unique items are used as part of the construction cost to decorate your settlement.

Then since the decorations would be somewhat limited you could do something like give the decorations a happiness bonus similar to the Creation Club's rugs, plants, etc.

I'd like to see them mark the edge of the settlement's border in areas it makes the most sense.

I think it would be best if a new plot type were added that was nothing but decoration, allowing city plans to pre-place them in convenient spots around the settlement. It is very annoying having spikes all around Sanctuary, and sometimes spawning inside of houses.

I like the plot based decoration. I hope there will be an option to turn off random placed totems. Not that I don't like them It's just I'm trying to keep the polygon count low.

I was just looking to make them something like trophies that gave actual bonuses to happiness. Rather than something annoying scattered in your settlement.

I have a possible bug here with city design overwrote faction decoration. My ROTC Sunshine Tidings upgraded to lvl 3 and all flags have been changed to the minutemen flags. I also lost raider decorations on all 1x1 martial plots.

Funny this upgrade took place right after a huge minutemen assault from the main quest. Not sure if I won that battle after all.

I tried to turn faction decoration on and off and fast travel away and to the settlement multiple times to no avail.

Maybe Jam Jam decided to join Aiden's gang...

I really like this idea. Almost like an altar or monument that grows per level.

I wasn’t thinking of that, although that would be a great idea too. I was thinking more of predefined positions for the clutter so that it isn’t all over the place. Monuments sound cool though, maybe they could provide bonuses as well, such as increased guard effectiveness in vassals (intimidation factor)

Yes! Oh man this is giving me so many ideas. I'm currently unable to make them myself but if you know anyone that can id be more than happy to send my sketches over
