Drinking and eating in Sim Settlements 2

Hello everyone, I apologize in advance if my English is not perfect. I want to thank all the team for the incredible work of the mod!
I play in survival and I need to find food and water. If I understand the principle of Sim Settlements 2 correctly, there are two stocks in the colony. The Vanilla stock and the Sim Settlements 2 stock.
The food and water produced with Sim Settlements 2 do not appear in the vanilla stock.
If I need to feed myself I have to dedicate a colony for my own needs.
Is my logic right?
Thank you for your answers.

yes but at the same time you don't really need a settlement to make food and water just for you cause you can salvage from kills all the food and water you want or you can trade for it with merchants

The traditional vanilla supply routes are useless? you have to use the Sim Settlements 2 supply routes
Thank you for your answers

when you get the gunner HQ (GNN) a normal vanilla trader station will be build outside that you can use

Personaly for myself i dont bother with eating and drinking i just keep a good supply of stimpacks that serves me well.

SS2 Plots can generate Food and Water into the Workbench for you to use, but because of a change in the code it might seem like they are producing "less" than you are used to compared to the base game.
I actually use this mod to help make sure there's always some left over for me:

well if you play in survival mod with no mods you need to eat, drink and sleep or your AP is effected meaning its a smaller bar you get to use

Idek's Logistics Stations will automatically gather supplies from all settlements to whatever hub settlement you want, rendering settlement surplus limits a non-issue. Technically you can use any container for the storage but if you use a settlement workbench those gathered supplies will still be utilized along the caravan network.

Since this results in one settlement having a huge number of resources to attract potential attacks ILS will allow you to turn off attacks at that settlement, but as a roleplay decision I pretty much always use the Mechanist's mini-vault which is never attacked anyway and is basically canonically impregnable.

Additionally it includes cloud storage access to said container so you can access it from anywhere you can build, even integrating with player homes.

With apologies to the team the only reason to use the standard caravan services plots is if you just find the advantages of ILS make it too easy; Idek really designed a brilliant system.

Based on patterns I have observed being "tech support" for ss2 here on the forums for this long, i cannot in good faith recommend "ILS2" myself. It sure SEEMS like it is the common factor to a lot of issues I never have myself...

Also, ILS2 has not been updated since Chapter 2 and IDEK has been silent on his mod page since then… hard to tell if something is not working properly in the background. It’s a shame, because the mod has great features

Since a couple of SS2 patches ago, the "prioritize route" function stopped working properly (at least for me). This feature was the main reason I used this mod and also the cool looking plots and also the travelling caravaneer. Global Stash (Connect all Workshops and Workbenches) by SKK can do a lot in regard of inventory management.

Well, while aware results may vary, I personally have never had any issues with it. I confess I did check Idek's account on Nexus just to verify it still shows activity and he's still okay.

I had Global Stash on my radar, but I’m scared of messing something up if I change the load order (add, retract mods, etc.), which could be a problem judging from one of the bug reports with an answer from SKK. Speaking from memory here
