double and triple plots after village leveled

Hi,

I fear, this might be answered already, but I can't find it.

In some settlements, there are multiple plots on each other. It seems, that every level there is a new polt made "above" the existing one. This leads to lag and mostly trying to debuild the additional plots manually cause a CTD. Outside of the problematic settlements (It seems it's bunker hill, Oberland, Gray and Warwick so far) the game is lagfree and stable.

Is there a script or any help to remove the false plots? I tried refresh settlement in bunker hill (which is the worst one), but the refresh needed more than an hour and dropped into CTD.

I have had the same issue in some of my settlements when I use city plans, I just go to all my settlements every 2 or 3 days and check for this problem and when I find an overlap I just use the Assam and destroy the plot underneath the new plot and that seems to solve the problem, but it is a pain as I have to spend a couple of hours of game play just going around checking when I would normally just check reports and leave which would only take an hour to get around all my settlements, unless I need to fix something like sorting out homeless or unemployed and or power problems which is not so often now.

Are these plots using the new city plot pack? Because I tried one yesterday on Spectacle Island and had the same issue. Duplicate plot, and when I tried to scrap the duplicate the game crashed to desktop. I removed the mod and went back to a save before I started using it.

I'll give that a try. Not on Spectacle Island, though. I'll try a smaller settlement.
Yeah Spectacle Island is definitely a unique beast - and I will say where I have had the issue as persistent is when I have changed the plot type - not the building plan, but changed like an agricultural to a municipal or something, sometimes when it drops the extra plot, it stays in that circumstance and has to be scrapped but usually it goes away.

No, partly about 9-11 month old

This is happening to me too, at Somerville Place. I think it might be connected to the RotC plans, I have few settlements on those and they're starting to become buggy. Or it is the newest patch.

At Somerville Place, if I start any refresh/replace/scrap, it'll just be stuck eternally and nothing will happen. No CTD though... :)

This might be one of those things that has multiple causes, but I've found that for me it usually happens when a city is upgraded via a city plan when the player is not actually in/near the city in question (ie the cell is actively present in-game). Something about how the game stores information about a cell when the player isn't actually there or something like that (I can't recall the exact specifics).

What I've done is turn off Auto-Upgrade City Plans (In MCM: Sim Settlements 2 -> Gameplay -> Upgrade -> Auto-Upgrade City Plans set to OFF) and manually update a city when I am actually present. It hasn't eliminated all of the instances of this happening, but has dealt with the vast majority of them.

I tried the "sit around and wait for duplicate plots to disappear" advice I've seen others give, but it didn't work as well for me. But heading the problem off at the pass as above has helped tremendously. Still occasionally get graphic duplications (extra doors for instance), but those do in fact go away eventually. Usually.

Sit around and refresh plots haven't worked. Bunker Hill still lags like hell. I tried the scriptt to remove orphaned items and it found 5712 items. After running für nearly 2 hours, it finishes, telling me about 5600 items seemed not to were orphan, so that didn't help much.
Trying to scrap settlement from the workbench does nothing.
But it's not only the plots, that are duplicated, i.e. the "open" shield in the market is seen twice being slightly offset.

Have anyone any idea to repair bunker hill?

Which City Plan are you using?

I am using ROTC: Bunker Hill.
Rise of the Commonwealth for Sim Settlements 2 - Are you using Version 2.3.1 ?
2.3.1 - Eliminates large static collections from the City Plans. Refresh any City Plans you are using to switch to individual items instead of the combined meshes.
The team also did some updates to the City Plans for population settings by City Plan level and may also have made other changes.
I'm not sure what work was done to improve Bunker Hill.

Duplication of plots was/is a common issue with these plans. They are ported from Sim Settlements (the original). In theory, the update should have resolved this.
If you are using the current version, or update to that version and have refreshed the City Plan and still have this issue, you might try downloading a different City Plan and using that one. Look for plans that have been updated in 2022. Not sure all of the City Planners have updated their City Plans to account for the population requirement/level.

There's also this: City Plan Contest Megapack for Sim Settlements 2
You can, if you want, only install the Bunker Hill plan of your choice. You don't have to install all of them.

I tried the refresh (but with scrap everything, because there was to much stuff), but the scrap stopped at 98%, even after hours.
Do You mean a refresh without scrap would do it? I will give it a try later this evening. THanks for the help so far.

Regarding the new package, I thought about that to, but I can't get rid of the old plan.

I tried it with an older save, but the problem ist still, that the scrap layout stops at 98%.

Since I have the new problem, that I can load older saves, but no new ones (even if I load the older and immidiately save it) and get an CTD at the end of the loading screen.
Buffout finds a script crach - > Priority : [3] | Papyrus : 0 | VirtualMachine : 1 -
I try to get help on this one, but with both errors, I am not sure, if continue this playthrough makes sense - again.

Thanks for help, the Megapack is definitly on my list for additiional runs.

Many of us here, used to use Scap Everything. Many of us found ourselves with corrupted games. If your game is affected by Scrap Everything, then ya, time to start a new play through. Several threads here on the forums discussing the use of that mod.
Removing a mod and continuing to play a game is not advised.

Fallrim Tools is a utility mod, "Resaver" may be able to fix something for you. I am not a good person to help you figure out how to use that tool to fix the game, but there is a tutorial Fallrim Check by Raybo that may be able to help you.

No no, not the Mod Scrap Everything. If You choose refresh from the Settlement Desk, You are asked, if You wish to want to just refresh or scrap everything. It's the option of the refresh, not the mod, I talked about.
In both cases, the scrapping script runs for about 1 hour to 98% and stops. Even after 3-4 hours, it doesn't go better.

I tried Fallrim, but same problem, saves made now (even older ones, loaded and immediately saved) refuse to be loaded.

Refresh any City Plans you are using to switch to individual items instead of the combined meshes.
The catch is though, you can't refresh those cities because they're already f'd up. Refreshing just gets you stuck at 97/98/99 percent progress bar and will never finish.

I have only 3 on RotC plans, should have listened to the forums that warned using against them in SS2 ever. It's just asking for trouble. All other settlements are working fine that are on more modern plans.

I guess I'm giving up on SS for good. It's a great mod and I've done 3 playthroughs with it installed, but it's biggest Achilles heel is that there never was any proper recovery tools for stuck and f'd up cities. Recover as in just wipe a settlement, brute force it and let people start over instead of having to start a new game.

IIRC, there is a "destroy settlement" tool in WSFW (MCM or holotape).
You could also try Raze My Settlement. It has an experimental "raze all" option that should remove all city plan and plot objects.

Perhaps This would be a solution, but because there where some other problems, I started all over. But thanks, could be a help lateer on, if something else happens in a settlement.
