CTD Autobuildplot spam?

Apparently since there is not a SINGLE WAY to track the reasoning behind a crash which i find really weird and confusing since we have mods for literally everything imaginable for the game,b ut can't make a program to track the last few scripts ran by a game before it crashed...

But the papyrus log says this:

Mostly spamming that autobuilder thing

Other things that pop up a lot are script_z_gameplaymanager and sometimes PlayerComments.

The problem is that the CTD is completely random. It could happen after ten minutes of gameplay after looking in whatever direction, or I'll play 2 hours and then it'll CTD after a transition through a door, or talking to a vendor, or out of the blue just running.

Anyone have ANY ideas? I've dealt with this for two weeks now and im sick of restarting saves. Don't want to have to disable all mods and then enable one by one and play from anywhere from ten minutes to 2 hours each mod enabled to see if it CTD when I can't even pinpoint WHAT is happening in the game when it doe sit.

CTDs are pretty tough to track down, but scripts are rarely the cause. The original release of RotC could cause script crashing, but I fixed that pretty quickly after release. The only other mod known to crash the game from scripts is War of the Commonwealth which I see you have.

Unfortunately, removing a mod that complex mid-playthrough will likely ruin your save - though if you're on the verge of starting another save anyway - you may as well try it.

War of the Commonwealth is currently being completely redesigned by someone to not use the insane amount of scripting that mods does, but I don't know how far along the alternative version is.

Either way, that's almost certainly the cause of your crashing.


Per the Autobuild errors - that's something I have on my list to figure out, but unfortunately the error messages that spam the log aren't accurate (I've confirmed what it says in the log is not true, so I think the engine is displaying the wrong error message - which makes it tough to troubleshoot). I've also confirmed that log spam isn't crashing the game by having that function it mentions run hundreds of thousands of times in a spam script and never once crashed my game.
 
I figured when a Bethesda game crashed, a script with a mod went wrong most of the time. I thougth script was just the name of an action the game does that screws up and causes a crash, like dialogue interaction, pulling out a gun, etc. So no surprise I used the wrong word there lol.

Thank you for your response Kinggath! Didn't expect the main leader behind the greatest addition to FO4's base game to respond! How exactly would WOTCW ruin my save also? How integrated is the mod with my save already? I thought it was just spawning random groups of enemies in the open world to fight each other.
 
Would you happen to know what the Script_Z_Skillmanager.psc part is? Good maount of my CTDs have the papyrus logs spamming this as the final lines.
 
I believe that script is from Horizon. Can't pinpoint the file directly, because I am not using the mod myself. The same question has popped few times in other forums.
 
War of the Commonwealth creates enemy spawners all over the map. There are so many of them that they overwhelm and crash your game.

I would recommend trying to disable it, since your game is unstable anyway - disabling it will either cure your save, or you'll be in the same spot you were before you disabled it.

BTW, your thread reminded me to take another crack at that Autobuilder log spam last night and I finally got rid of it! Will be fixed in the next patch.
