Crafting Components for Residential

Hi,

I love Sim Settlements. I'm just getting into the industrial side of things and it's awesome.
I have a quick question that I'm not sure belongs in General or Help.

I'd like to modify the crafting requirements for residential plots. I use a mod called Thrive, which greatly increases the crafting components needed for a bed. Thrive beds need springs and cloth. To line this up with Sim Settlements beds I'm thinking can I just copy and override the following line with a few new components.

kgSIM_COBJ_ResidentalPlot_SizeA, or the 2x2 ID?

I'm also assuming I can leave the other residential plots such as those tied to concrete and wood as they are no longer a primary part of Sim Settlements

oh. Am I even allowed to do this? Don't want to break anything or cause problems.

thanks,
RumbleBee

Doing so would be.. well.. a waste of time the way I see it. You'd be re-doing it for every patch. And tweaking things like that just might open a black hole that spews out super mutant deathclaws.
Not to mention all future requests for help will result in "install an unaltered vanilla version and try again".
Don't get me wrong!
I tweak mods all the time.. but.. if they go south, I know it's all on me.
Tweaking SS for me is a big NOPE! Waaaay to much stuff tied together.
You also have to keep in mind, no other mod is as complex as Sim Settlements. Not even close! ;)

But if you wanna play around.. go for it. Great way to learn stuff! :)

Unless the ID changes any minor change should remain through patches though right?
Of course I'd not touch the Sim Settlement ESP.

Like you I tweak mods too, but only as overrides on a separate ESP. Made my own sorting mod from scratch, one for Sim Settlements too as there are a lot of books, indigestibles.

thanks for your reply. As this was a little different to the many sorting mods I have made I though it best I double check first.

Yeah, I was just cleaning a mod of dirty edits and was thinking in terms of directly editing SS. But you're correct, as long as the code doesn't change, prolly wont, then the patch will work forever..

KG would have to chime in as to the ramifications.. if any.
