Constant CTDs forcing me to give up on the game. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've been having way too many CTDs lately, especially when near Sanctuary. SS2 and workshop are up to date. I'm not sure if it's a mod conflict or the fact that every time I got overwrites in MO2 I'd create a new mod with them and activate it. I'm posting my load order:

Using my game as an example, please adjust the path to where you installed the game. You should open C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\xSE PluginPreloader.xml
Look for LoadMethod. Make sure that line reads:
<LoadMethod Name="OnThreadAttach">
Save, and exit. xSE PluginPreloader configuration is complete.

Assuming F4SE and Buffout 4 have been installed correctly, when you load the game, you will get some general F4SE logs here (again adjust paths):
C:\Users\Yagisan\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\F4SE
If the game crashes, this is where you'll find Buffout crash logs.
Ok I made that change in the preloader.xml. When I tried installing buffout through MO2, I got a message saying it wasn't installed properly. Something about a DLL. So, since I saw that the buffout 4 files came in a "F4SE" folder, I figured they need to be alongside the F4SE files in the main Fo4 directory. I just now put those files in the data folder as well to cover all bases.

I noticed there WAS a "redistributables" download in the Buffout 4 nexus page. I followed its instructions, to put it "next to fallout 4.exe" When I drag it next to that, it is automatically placed 2 spots down, so not directly adjacent (if that actually matters) and I can't re-order it. When I launch, I still get a message from MO2 saying "A dependency DLL could not be found" for Buffout 4.

So I seem to have "apparently" installed buffout 4 properly now that I got the redistributables in the right place, MO2 no longer gives me a warning when ticking buffout 4...but my game just froze and there are no logs in F4SE folder in "my games"

Is there a xse log in the game main directory folder? Also about the load order of the redistributeles doesn't matter as long as it's in the same folder as the .exe file. The xse log will tell you if bufout is working.

Ok I did find the crash log that was made just now. Not exactly sure what to take from it, though. Here it is:

Does the game and your save game load? Also check the xse log, even though you get a crash log doesn't mean buffout is loading correctly. When my game was crashing a certain mod would show up a few times, usually indicating that mod was failing. I don't see a specific mod failure in yours though.

xse log mentioned buffout did start properly. I just got another crash with a different error code on top.

Unhandled exception "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" at 0x7FF6672A4CC0 Fallout4.exe+0734CC0

The first one was

Unhandled exception "EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION" at 0x7FF66784AD30 Fallout4.exe+0CDAD30

Are these perhaps objects/items from a mod? Maybe typing something in the console like help 0cDAD30? I'm not too versed with the console commands.

Yes, they are references to a mod but that is where my knowledge ends. I am not sure which one it is referring to or why that mod is causing problems. From what i have seen others say is that one is a hexadecimal number that refers to a mod load order number. Whatever mod is in that position is the one causing issues. Is there any mod that shows up in your crash log multiple times? Also does the game and your save load?

My saves load fine. I've only had ONE exit save load up then crash and become corrupt, then i had to revert to the previous non-exit save. I'll try to see if I can decipher those numbers to find out which one is the mod load order number.

Most crashes are either in Sanctuary/Red rocket OR when I'm shooting an enemy. I recently took out unlimited settlement budget as suggested and noticed that I was well over the max, because anything that breaks is instantly put away and I cannot replace due to "limit reached", so I'm wondering if that has to do with anything.

It might be. Maybe you could try to backup your saves and try a new game. Build up sanctuary a little and see if it crashes. Save your backups to your desktop or somewhere easy to remember. That way you can go back when you find out whats happening.
