constant crashing

I am having constant crashing which I thought would be fixed by waiting a couple of months and hoping a fix would solve my problem but that didnt happen. I used Start Me Up and skipped the beginning sequence, are there any scripts that were supposed to start during that and they were prevented?

Humm, don't just re-install.
The best thing to do here is doing a good uninstall, reinstall and verify.
I would hold off on the F4SE for now, being you are crashing in the pre-war.
This is a good video as it touches on the uninstall part.

Also, for some folks, the quick start stuff works fine.
I fall back to someone smarter than me saying that the Base Game is still running set-up/start-up scripts even after the meeting with codsworth. It can be a dice roll how everything else in a LO interacts when something is different than the base game.

My advice is:
1. Only a few mods need to be installed at the start of a game save. Many can wait.
2. Make your own quick start. Make some unmodded saves at least to the point of leaving the vault. Then copy them somewhere safe.

If you want to start somewhere else then use unmodded saves to that point and use COC or tmm1 "I like tmm1" make a hard save there and "bam" quick start to any future game. Console in whatever gear you want to start with or stat changes after that.

Use that save to start your future games and then mod away. At least you won't be replaying everything.

SS2 isn't like SS1, you can install it after leaving the vault.

Oh. hahahaha, make a choice about the UFO4 patch, just never uninstall it.
If testing for an author, then I ask, and normally don't use it.
I always use it when making a new save-file for my own games. That is the one mod that gets baked into a new save file.
Any time I have issues with a load order that I can’t figure out with fo4edit or loot I do a complete uninstall and reinstall of fo4 including f4se and any of my required mods I use.

more often then not it’s a loose file issue or stuff left behind by old mods that cause issues with current ones.

it’s one of the reasons I dislike loose file mods or mods requiring you to put stuff in the game directory or data folder manually.

Id just like to add on to this:

  1. Installing games to the program file folders is not advised. (C:\Program Files (x86)\ and C:\Program Files\). These folders have special permissions in windows, so can cause issues
  2. You have the mod Survival Options. This mod is known to cause issues. I would recommend switching to GCM, SCM and USM. Yes its three mods (only really need SCM and USM) but SO is a broken mod.
  3. The mod load order could be cleaned up. Vortex uses loot which is terrible for sorting mods (every mod manager that supports auto sorting uses loot). Its only useful as a base which you then clean up. Also, try not to use so many scripted mods with SS2. I did it with my most recent playthrough and I often get upwards of 20,000% script lag (yes, that is not a typo). This eventually goes away (5-10 minutes at most), but I have to stay still during that time.
  4. Removing mods from a save is not recommended. It will nuke that save most of the time. If you have found that a mod is preventing you from proceeding with your save, remove that mod and start over. But before you start always "finalize" your load order. Meaning installing all patches, ensuring the load order is good, using xedit to fix any major conflicts, ect

Use MO2. It has a virtual file system that never touches the games data folder. Downside is that you cant use it to manage any mod thats installed outside the data folder, but thats not exactly and issue.

i dont have survival options installed anymore so that isnt an issue. i have been having everything work together after i did a clean reintall of fallout, but i have noticed that the magazine didnt spawn on the workshop in sanctuary and the stranger wont spawn when i activate a radio beacon

This is usually caused by not having WSFW above SS2.

stranger just found me in fort hagen, guess i expected him to spawn right next to me immediately
He normally does but guessing you had some script lag going on if he found you in fort hagen. For me takes around 30 seconds tops for him to spawn then start walking to me.

he will spawn at the first settlement that has a recruitment beacon though so if you have one in another spot that’s where to find he sometimes.
