Communications Station Assignment

On my Red Rocket Gas Station settlement, when I try to assign a settler to the Communications Station, it says successful and shoes occupied (chair shows up and everything) but after a few seconds the settler gets re-assigned to another job plot. Will I need to turn off auto assign on this settlement in order to make this work or am I missing something?

If you have "auto-assign away from work objects" enabled then you'll need to disable it for that settlement (or globally).

Sometimes I've noted that even without this setting, you can end up assigning a settler to a non-SS work object and then SS will "hijack" the settler to go do something else, generally I'll repeat the assignment and then it will stick.

Ahh I didn't dig deep enough in the holotape options to see that one. I'll give it a whirl and see what happens. Thank you for the help.

I had the same Problem with WF installed even i have in the option to not reassign my Settlers. They was reassign from Arty,Communication Station and sometimes from my Logistic Station. It stop after i uninstall WF as it was a Pain to go to all Settlements and reassign them. With WF installed there was no way you assign one and he was direct reassign back to some Plot if there was no Plot Free they was assign to some other Vanilla or where ever was it possible.

I've started using IDEK's option to double as a communication station once it is level 2. It's less likely to have it's settler reassigned.

That's the easiest solution for sure. When dealing with the city plans, do you add an industrial somewhere and set it as an IDEK or wait to see if an industrial is built as part of the plan?

Depends on how frustrated I am :) If there is enough food/water to start and no industrial plot showing up yet I'll wait. Otherwise I tend to find a corner to drop one in and swap if one shows up later, but some of the small settlements have no obvious spare space. In that case I'll donate food/water/junk and watch for a good spot as the city plan builds out.
