Commenwealth police uniform

I remember going into the nearby school and getting curb stomped by raiders. I just realized they did the same "enter the city" scene for both Megaton and Diamond City... interesting. I don't remember for sure, but I'm willing to bet money the first time I entered that arsenal, the "patriotic murder robot" left parts of the PC all over the floor. :vinsent Now you reminded me how much better the locations and enemies were in FO3... :(

Some people can rant for hours on youtube about how Megaton makes no sense and Diamond City does, almost at FO1 levels. It's just... I don't know. There is no natural progression in FO4 and barely any worldbuilding, that's how I feel about it. You go out of the dead vault, immediately directed to your old settlement (which as we remember is right around the corner), meet your old robot, he flies around demolishing bloaflies and radroaches, directs you to Concord where the whole Preston thing happens, then you either get stuck in a never ending loop of settlements that need your help or go to Diamond City and probably take the wrong turn or 2 and get obliterated. And probably on the way there catch the BoS broadcast and go to help them, first out of curiosity or love for the BoS, on later saves for easy xp. Then eventually reach DS, find out Nick is nowhere to be found, shoot 100 gangsters, rescue Nick, go on a wild goose chase to again follow Dogmeat and maybe Nick... Well, you know how it all goes anyway. I remember finishing the game once and telling my coworkers, all excited "guys fo4 is so great it's the best game ever so pretty" and they were like "is it?". I was in love with fo3 and fnv and its been a long while since I played either at that point. Then I played a bit more, did other campaigns and it dawned on me: this game kinda sucks.

To be honest, the whole chasing your dad thing wasn't a while lot better... but the side quests were. I mean there were cannibals, "vampires," a guy that had his own kingdom complete with a harem and Harold. You could even fight your way through a hoard of super mutants on the Mall and in the Capitol Building. My favorite was exploring the subways to be scrared every time I heard a ghoul cry out. FO4... another settlement needs your help... facepalm I almost think the synths had a better story in FO3...

I remember being unhappy with combat the first time I played FO4. In FO3 and FNV I played a sneaky sniper. You could practically take out a group of enemies before they even figured out where you were hiding. In FO4 you can be 1000m away and they magically know were you are after the first shot. Even maxing out stealth and getting all the magazines does not change this. I had to learn a whole new combat style. Now most likely I would not do so well in FO3... :rofl

Another one is the removal of the karma system. There was no longer black, gray and white. Just gray remained.

/rant...

It wasn't perfect but at least my imaginary dad seemed to care for me so I kinda wanted to find him. Still wanted to explore more. And that main quest actually took you through some memorable places like tranquillity lane, little lamplight (yes I liked it), big town, vault 87, that's aside from mandatory megaton, galaxy news and rivet city. Then dad immediately runs off to follow his project, not even some quality family time. Disappointing. I mean, the fo4 main quest kinda worked for me at first cause they killed my wife and I kinda liked her. Of course they'd kill her in the opening but I was still pissed.

What's sad is I think that's true. At least they had a much better story in far harbor.

Idk, silenced weapons in the dark work alright from what I can tell. But a couple times I tried to sneak to Nick at a low level (and a dfficulty that isn't very easy) and that did not go well. That quest seemed like a perfect opportunity to either go guns blazing or carefully pick out everything one by one but no, everything is well lit and there's mobsters everywhere that are alerted instantly.

It could've worked even better in FO4 since in FO3 I'd always end up a wasteland Jesus but in FO4 I've done a lot of questionable stuff.

You ever do a devil run? It was pretty fun. I was disappointed that killing 3 dog didn't turn off the radio station. I just couldn't head cannon the BoS playing endless re-runs... Boy, now I want to figure out how to run FO3 on W10... I hope its not too big of a PITA.

Not really, I never even nuked Megaton. I sure as hell would nuke Diamond City at least once though, after everything Hancock told me, that would be a good karma action. Or swarm them with ferals. Or give them up to the Institute for experiments, why is that not an option? Synth Myrna, why not? Why not force Covenant to accept synths? Damn it Todd!
The worst thing I've done is leaving Garza to die, I think.
run FO3 on W10...
Is that really a problem? Didn't think the game was that old... But hey, I ran Commander Keen on W7, you can do it.

Funny story, I'm currently playing with "Feral Nights by SKK" in my load order, and I hadn't set the options quite the way I wanted, so last night a pack of about 20 ghouls popped at about 2nd base as I walked into Diamond City. That was Fun(tm). I am really good at providing Friendly Fire.

I have a simillar story, I was playing with "whispering hills" mod and diamond city got attacked. A twinscreamer wiped Moe Cronin's head clean off. Guess he wasn't essential enough for that. Definately one of the highlights of my entire FO4 playtime.

Did you stand over his corpse and ask "where's your swatter now?"

Win XP... I wonder if my old Vista box is still in the closet... I had it running on my Win 10 rig, but I seemed to CTD more often than I remember being normal.

Lmao, I actually like the guy. His views on baseball rules are... interesting, to say the least. And everything he says is just completely bonkers. Seems to be a common theme with anyone in FO4 dressed in baseball uniforms.

"Pandemic system" does have a ring to it. That's probably what most of us thought too after the words "disease system". Mask and antiseptic dispensers incoming, right next to New Bugle kiosks with spooky pandemic news.
I'm just wondering about the unlock order, I've looked at the new tech tree and it seems weird.
(Is this a spoiler? I don't even know..)
It seems that graveyards come before sanitation and hospitals, shouldn't it be the other way around? And what about the existing plots that could classify as either, like Field Hospital interior (organics), Field Hospital from AA (martial), Gravedigger (organics), Crematory (recreation)?
I found a pandemic mod a while back that had a bunker full of feral workers, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, and mask. Sadly I had to remove all the mods I had as well as reinstall Fallout 4.
