Comm and Caravan Plots?

So as I said in another question I posted, Im using the City Plans to construct my cities.
I want to be able to use the scanner and Mark 1 beacons so local settlements will come clean out cleared areas of scrap.
Do the City Plans auto build comm and caravan plots to enable this? Or do I need to manually add these plots to my settlements in order to use the Mark 1 beacons?

Most, if not all, city plans do include Caravan Offices for stuff like that. The comm plots are generally an "at your discretion" thing and not necessary for the beacons, they affect a settlement's population size and general settler skill which not everyone would be down with using a plot on stuff like that for a smaller settlement like Hangman's Alley.

Actually the comm plots are required for the Mark 1 beacons if you want the settlers to come auto scavenge the cleared areas.

Still doesn’t mean it’s something everybody considers essential, especially not in every settlements. So comm plots may not be something present in every plans. And with every new and future plans made by players who want to make plans, there is no guarantee that every plan will include anything specific.

Honestly, unless it’s written in the description, you won’t know unless you build and look.

So is there a table or chart to easily see which plots are built in a settlement with out walking around and individually checking them all?

No. I mean, if you want to create one, this would be the best moment as SS2 is so young there aren’t many city plans yet but with new city plans made both for the monthly contest and just for fun, I’m not sure it would be realistic to try and keep such a chart up to date.

But hey, my understanding is that making city plans is meant to be easy and straightforward. Maybe have a look at it and take a shot. Maybe a pack of “all settlements with caravans and comm hubs” would interest a lot of peeps (honestly I never use them, my Xbox disagrees with them intensely).

But otherwise no, there really isn’t a way to open an excel sheet and just look.

One thing you could do is try and contact people who make plans and ask them to give more detailed descriptions of their plans. It’s early, if you convince enough city plan makers to do it it could become the accepted way of doing it and I think everybody wins there.

In any case, best of luck trying to find plans that fits your needs.

If you toggle on the Holo-Hud you can see really easily what plots are what. If you see there isn't a Municipal plot set to be a Comm station, just switch the building plan. Personally I play with the Holo-Hud on all the time, so I can be outside a settlement and see quickly what's going on with all the plots in that settlement even without being in it.

Also, remember you can actually change a plots type by going to the Customize Plot option on the ASAM.

That way you could opt to change a plot from industrial, home or farm, whatever you don't need atm, into the necessary municiples to put comm and caravan plots if you need to in a city plan that doesn't include them by default.

This is the answer I was looking for! But how do I activate that? Im playing on PC.
