Question Cleaning Mods with FO4Edit gives me 'LOOKUP FAILED' error

[I also posted this in GENERAL]

I had the ugly LOOKUP FAILED error so I did the 'Verify integrity of files' thingee via Steam and it worked. at least as far as the workshop menu for 'Raider' items title. (I assumed this fixed all instances, but I realize that's not necessarily true.)

Then, I used FO4Edit to 'clean' the DLC and LOOKUP FAILED returned. (Again, I only checked the Workshop menu.)

Does anyone know how I can can clean the DLC without causing the LOOKUP FAILED issue?

Should I run dirty?

Should I simply put up with LOOKUP FAILED?

Any feedback (that doesn't flame me) is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

@BlindPumkin Sorry - I just saw this. I think I have you on our Discord channel, if not - you should join us, you'll get help much quicker generally.

Lookup failed has to do with the localization strings. I'm not sure how to fix it, I tend to get it frequently on the load screen tips.

This issue is typically the case if you have a UI mod installed, the localization strings are sometimes in the mod/dlc ba2 file and the UI mod can't seem to access them when they are. If you extract them from the ba2 and put them in the \Data\Strings\ directory, it will resolve the failed lookups for those mods/dlcs.

I think I fixed this issue by deleting the (strings) folder. Thanks for getting back to me. I'm sorry I never updated the post.

err...no problem, but you didn't need to necro this thread just for that. :rofl

:agree:
Good luck in the future though.
