City Plans only gets half built.

Hi, I don't know it anyone has had this before, but when I try to scout the forums, it seems that the main problem other users have is that when implementing a city plan, their entire settlement gets scratched, and that's it... In my case, the settlement gets scratched in the cinematic overview and then the settlement starts building... until it kinda just stops for whatever reason. After a few more cinematic spins, I'm returned to my half finished settlement. Some only have the foundations laid out, half the walls are built, and very few ASAM plots have been placed, and when comparing the pictures from the creators I can clearly see that barely half of the actual settlement got built, and this seems to be the case with several city plans.

If anyone have experienced this before or knows of any tips, I'd be really grateful.

How much space do you have re: build limit? You can turn this setting off (respect build limit) via the holotape, or configure settlement size at the workbench. Most common cause in my experience is that the city plan simply hits the build limit and can't build anything more.

With some of the leveled plans, you won't see all the plots until they level up. Some start with a lot of buildings and others with only a few plots.

With most of the plans in SS2 you need to double the build cap to make it all fit. You can do it on the Workbench with WSFW. If you have the build set to respect build limits it will build up to the cap and no more.

Thank you for you responses. And yes indeed at the start, my issue was that I reached the build limit, and I have since started to press space at the workbench each time to up the limit to 400% just to be sure, but it seems in my case that it doesn't have much of an effect, instead the settlements are half built and I'm instead at like 25% of build limit.

I'll check the holotape after work, that might be a factor, and also I was wondering if the city had to level up first, so I'll have a look at that as well thank you for all the replies!

If your at 400% then 25% of that would be 100% normal build limit.

What city plan are you using? I'll give it a try :)

Thanks. I've tried Nicogaud, or NigauD (I've tried some others who also failed, but I can't remember their names) as he sometimes calls himself. I've tried his mods for Abernathy's farm, Red Rocket, The Slog, and Finch farm (this one kinda looks like it works?) I liked his design as he makes it look very fallouty with a walled settlement, but forget the missing plots... even the walls aren't complete in my case.

Do you have the relevant add-ons installed? Many city plans require add-ons, and if they appear empty or unfinished it can sometimes be caused by the player not having them all installed.

Ive found
The Slog
Abernathy
And Red Rocket
Those the plans your using? In case they are I went ahead and collected the mods it lists to check against.

I used a save from by builder profile - so I have all the SS2 stuff and anything I need to win :)

Incidently I assigned Wiseman to Mayor when the game said no unique settlers are handy. When I applied the plan it unassigned him so I had to hunt him down and make him the mayor again.
Use the contest assistant to add 21 more settlers so they match the bed count and set the build limit to +100%. 2k caps and 15k junk to build with - and Im off to Red Rocket.

Correct, those are the ones.

I too used Wiseman as the Mayor for the Sloge

Id forgotten I had some settlers in Red Rocket. Clear out the Radscorpions that moved in. When I examine the town stats it gives me the option to "take" and close. Take just seems like a fancier close :P
Add to the workshop 100 food and water (Not enough food or beds for the starting 11 people/4beds).
Appoint a settler mayor. Get the layout built. 2k Caps. Contribute workbench to the settlement and I get a crash, reboot and test the option - again CTD. Unload the workbench. Add in junk items. CTD. Make a @kinggath save - Ill use another save for RR...or not I managed to find 3 items in the Workbench that werent showing up or being removed having 0 item count. Radaway, Radx and Radstag meat. Add one of each and take them back - then add just wood and try donating. Works fine.

I set my SS2 to not respect city limit on building and to not wait till I see it for upgrades. This design has the bar maxed even after I upgrade it.

Yay. Off to Abernathy

At Abernathy, claim settlement, select plan. It notifies me Im missing mods.
Whisper's Power Plots
Walled Gardens and More
I dont think Ive ever had a copy of those mods so no idea what not having them might cause - their reason for removal is navmesh is broken. Activate city plan. Everything looks ok but the settlement maxes out the settlement count even with it expanded.

On man this design is rough. Lots of floating things and missing plots. Id pass on this one myself till it gets fixed or I could find those mods.
ScreenShot12.png

Your right its a neat design. Pitty it ended up borked. I summon 10 settlers to fill the beds and I'll leave this and check on it later.

Oh a final note - Redrocket/Abernathy/Sactuary/Concord cause a LOT of stress on each other if they get big. Better to pick one of the settlements to build up and the others keep low in the teens at most of settlers.

Thanks for testing, and yes, I belive that Abernathy is borked, and I fear that that's teh case with The Slog as well... BUT when fiddling with the holotape as I was suggested earlier, it DID build a bit more.... At least the area is all fenced at least... So that's progress!... I'll see what it looks like after leveling up.

But just as a try out. What Settlement design do you use?... I don't mind bombing a settlement to test a new build if it works.

Omg Nigaud is a really good one, he's in the mega pack series city plans!! Very realistic!!!!

I did some research on the Abernathy plan and I found this quote "You need snappy, I know it's a pain to install mods and mods, but a lot of the plan uses snappy walls and windows, I don't know what it would be like without."

Im not sure which snappy mods he means I think I know the mods anyway - I listed them below
Unimmersive Snappy Stairs
Snappy Corridors(Outer walls)
Snappy Half Walls
Snappy DLC Kits
Snappy Housekit
Total Snapgasm (A combination of: Warehouse Corner Wall Snap, Scaffolding Snapping, More believable Windmillls, Garden Plot Snaps, Warehouse Top Wall Snaps, Useful Posts, Snappy Corridors, and Useful Wooden Railings. Everything is packed inside a proper .ba2, and there's an .esl variant)
Snapable Garden Plots
Snap'n Build 2.0
Snappable Junk Fences
Whisper's Extra Pieces and Snaps

There are lots and lots of mods that snap - these are the ones I know :)

Scaffolding Snapping

Requirements Tab in Nexus say that it's Snappy Housekit and Snappy DLC Kits, which would make sense as those mods have tons of walls and structural elements so without them it would definitely look incomplete.

Oops just saw this part. Not sure what you mean. I downloaded it and stuck it into MO2 and in game used the city desk to load it.

Ive tried adding more items several times. In The Slog and Abernathy I cant get a gap to show up in the bar.

I did manage to find copies of the mods but their in a foreign language and the cityplan doesnt know them.
