@RayBo Happened to post a screenshot of some really bad script backup in a Discord group I'm in, and it screamed to me of a bug. Lo and behold, our Virtual Resource storage total fix code had an infinite loop in it!

Fortunately, was able to create a hotfix that will recover saves. So if you feel like your game has been very unresponsive of late, particularly with the resource HUD and plot gameplay, this may have been the cause. After loading this hotfix, let your game run for a few minutes so the loop can clear and your other scripts can catch up.

Xbox players, wait until the version number listed on the mod description is 71 before attempting to download.

Merry Christmas all, my apologies for the mistake - fixed it as soon as I learned of it!

If I install the hotfix do I need to start a new game in order for the updates/patches to work?
If a patch requires a complete restart to actually work, kinggath would've mentioned that in the post up there. I honestly can't think of a single time that's been required - at most, sometimes "go back to a save before you started quest X or Y" can be needed.

okay, thank you my friend. I was also having some trouble with the HQ. After trying to build bathrooms in the lower levels I tried activating the wall terminal by the woman's bathroom. Afterward, my game froze, this happened twice and I was wondering if anyone else had problems with it?

Oops, I'd blamed it on the 3rd-party city plans I had started using, threw away two days of playing, and rebuilt with the basic plans. Well, as I told my husband, at least I'm getting good at it. Thank you for the hotfix!

The hotfix seems faulty to me.
I tried updating to and existing save and the component values went crazy. e.g. I had ~100 screws and then shot up to over 4000.
I waited a while to see if it sorts itself out but the numbers just got more confusing.
So I started a new game and Industrial production is totally messed up.

The following screenshot is with 4 Building Material and 1 Scrap building, and waiting 24 hours.

I have to add that my problems with the city plans have not gone away after all. Any time the production of something is lower than required, such as food, the material becomes cyclic. Even though I may be producing some, the amount produced displays as 0 in the Needs Report. The in-stock number cycles between the amount produced and the entire amount available in the CW. Because of the relatively huge amounts of food and/or water being cycled through, defense required keeps oscillating between the real amount required and some much larger number. After throwing away two days of playing in order to convert from 3rd-party city plans to kinggath's, I briefly used ROTC plans. Then I threw away two hours of playing and reverted to before I added that mod, because of the duplication issues in those plans. I am now using 10 Basic city plans. I figured I'd use the Basic plans until either the ROTC fix came out or Chapter 3 came out. Now I am finding duplication in at least one of the Basic plans, and this problem with supplies which I do not see in my 13 hand-built settlements. I am considering dropping city plans altogether for the time being, even though Stodge requires one. Maybe he will be happy as long as he is the Mayor and has a desk.

Anyway, keep trying, kinggath. I may sound like I'm complaining but I'm just reporting what's happening in my game. If I wasn't enjoying playing SS2, I wouldn't be here.

Just to add that my industrial production is messed up too since the patch.

In order to keep playing I changed the settings from "city simulation" to "automated" and set to off all the operating plot cost, city plan involvement to none, ressource management to only scrap etc (because after the patch my organics materials were skyrocketing high while my machine parts were always at 0 despite the fact that I converted almost all my organic factories to machine part gathering)

Since then, when I enter a settlement it always show me 0 scrap materials unless I go to advanced tools : recalculate virtual ressources. It fixes the games for some hours and I have to repeat afterwards.

Getting data errors when installing SS2 2.3.0a from scratch. Trying to extract the 7z archive manually also throws CRC errors. Just got a new machine that can handle SS2, hoping there's a quick fix.

I tried manually extracting the files and they are working for me.
It's possible that the file didn't download correctly.
When downloading from Nexusmods try clicking on "Manual download" instead of "Mod Manager Download", and see if that helps.

Military plots sometimes distract defense from a settlement. Perhaps it started if you have more than one military plot per settlement. Sorry, I don't have a screen, I have destroyed to hell this plots.

Hmm, weird.
Things to to try.

Download the 2.2.6 beta as this will be different from the nexus servers. SS2 2.2.6 beta
If you are using a HDD, try doing a full surface scan.
I am assuming that you are using the latest 7zip version 22.01 (as of Jan 4th 2023).

I remember having a similar issue years ago and turned out to be my usb wifi adapter, so maybe look into that.
I hope you get it solved.

For what it is worth, I am using 7Zip from 2019, and as I depicted above, I am having no problems with the download.

Yep, disregard. Must be something weird with my new build or my internet. Got it downloaded at work and it extracted no issues. Thanks for the help.
