Primary Bug Report Can't complete quest "taking point: Sunshine tidings co-op"

is the quest Taking Point? Edit: right there in the title :P.

If anyone has a quest OTHER then taking point let me know and I'll get you a console command to progress until kinggath can fix the issue.

For now, those who are stuck on Taking Point, try this console command until kinggath has a fix (I've let him know about the issue and the reason for the problem):

setstage MinRecruit06 400

I was having the same exact same problem. Thanks for the work around! Hope you find what is causing it.

Don't use the console command. Kinggath has since resolved this in patch 3.0.2. You just need to save/reload for the quest to complete.

Hmm. I’m up to date and was still having the problem. Could just be the plethora of mods I have installed. Either way it got rid of the quest issue.

So, to clarify... (sorry, I'm old :D ) Once the beacon is set up and activated, saving the game and reloading the save will complete the quest now.. without any console workarounds? I really want to go back to using Sim Settlements but every single Taking Point quest for me would not progress with it installed.

Yes it should with the latest version (3.0.3b). The fix triggers on load actually. So If you download that and start up your game, your stalled quests should magically be completed on startup.

(quite a few of us in the team around KG remembers the 70's btw...)

Thank you much for the clarification. I've reinstalled it, but I'm going to start a new character. If for any reason I have the same issue, I will do a save and reload... if that doesn't work, I'll be back :grin

Simplest way to avoid this is to first FINISH the "Taking Point" quest by clearing it from trash, then claiming it as in vanilla game, put down vanilla generator and vanilla beacon and you get an update "Talk to Preston". Go talk to Preston to finish that quest and then come back and do the Sim Settlements thing and it will work. At least, worked for me. It seems to revert the "Claim settlement" step when you claim it, put down the beacon and power it up and then also immediately start the Sim Settlement autobuild, which will scrap the stuff placed by you and thus eliminates your progress and also blocks it from progressing due to the recruitment changes in Sim Settlements.

Just confirming this worked for me at Hangman's Alley. Set up the beacon but nothing happened, so saved, loaded save, and quest completed. Thanks guys. Glad to be able to play through with SS again :D

Just a reminder: At the Castle, you must finish the Old Guns quest before activating the City plan build.

Mama Murphy is a junkie you know... not heard anything of chair refusal related to SS. Have the chair been scrapped by SS city build?
The taking point quests should all have the same workaround atm. Kinggath is looking into fixing it fully.
Uh, what if it did? I actually have the problem where SS scrapped Mama Murphy's chair, and it's not in the build menu again. I'm not sure what to do. Mama is asking to sit down, and the chair doesn't seem to have been relocated. I tried consoling the chair to my position but it doesn't appear to exist.
Can her quest be set back to the proper stage somewhat easily in the console?

EDIT 1; Well, for now I've just used the console to just advance her as though she's been in the chair, but I'd still like to reset the her chair to the workshop.

EDIT 2; Not sure if the recent update fixed it, but her chair reappeared in the workshop, so everything is good and right... I placed Mama in her chair on a platform in the middle of the river.

17 March 2018, 8:48AM Not sure what has changed but something from sim settlements is interfering with the star light drive in when you get the quest to build a beacon you can build it anywhere and it still bugs out.

I still have these types of quest bug out when playing. But it's easier to fix now. Quick-saving then quick-loading fixes them for me. (as opposed to the console-commands to fast-forward the quest)

I tried that first but the only way I could progress was to save, quit and restart...that was almost all of the taking point quests.

I always just F5, Esc, load Quick Save, wait about a minute (normally less) and the quest advances. It uses OnGameLoad (I believe) so a full exit "shouldn't" be required at all.
Now if you're experiencing scrip lag, then exiting the game and restarting does make a difference.

Hello :)

So, I started using Sim Settlements after getting Starlight Drive-in,Sunshine Tiding Co-ops and The Castle.

I'm using Rise of the Commonwealth mod with all the companions I got all but Curie and the Institute dude.

Preston gives me the " taking the point mission " for JAMAICA PLAIN. Good thing I got the treasure's one to do, I go, kill all the ghouls, discover the " treasure " and go to the workshop to build the recruitment beacon.

Once I power it, nothing happens, marker still on the workshop and mission is blocked, can't get the " report success to preston ".

Can I let my last available companion leads the place and still have the other " taking the point " missions from settlers or Preston himself ?

Do you have a fix for this bug ?

Because I still have not unlocked : Hangman's Alley and Zimonja Outpost and pbbly few others...
