i have both workshop framework and plus and when i tried to assign a settler to run a supply line the key bind didn't work now i know sim settlements has its own internal supply lines but i have never been able to get it to work for none sim settlement building or upgrading weapons. any help would be great

Just a thought, have you tried it with multiple settlers? As some of the ones who start at settlements can't be assigned.
Also SS still needs a supply line set up to share resources. The logistics stations, which are part of an addon, are a great help with this and worth thinking about adding.

If assigning a settler isn't working, it generally means your game scripts are backed up.

Are you able to assign that settler to a vanilla item?

i think you may be right i managed to get a "this settler can not be assigned to supply lines" message once with one settler but never again with that settler or any other settler, i can assign them to other jobs but with noticeable lag. taking a closer look at how IDEK's logistics station work i manage to get it work as work around.

I'm investigating potential issues with Workshop Framework causing script backup, if you want to upload your .fos save file to dropbox.com and send me a link in private message - I can use it for my research.

There is a game setting, "iWorkshopSettlerPopulationMax", that was the target of many early mods that tried to increase settler counts by "simple means" (i.e. without script edits). Eventually though, people understood that this setting has no effect whatsoever on a workshop's allowed population limit, and it sort of fell into oblivion.
Though, what most users still don't know is that this setting is checked (at engine level) by the code that brings up the settlement selection menu. To put it short, if a workshop's population exceeds the value of iWorkshopSettlerPopulationMax, sending a settler to that workshop or even linking up a supply line is no longer possible, and the workshop will no longer appear as a menu option (or is grayed out).
Thus, mods that increase the population limit should make sure to also increase the value of iWorkshopSettlerPopulationMax to match the maximum possible population. Might be worth checking with xEdit whether the mod of your choice forgot this.
