cannot assign citizens to crops, tried relogging, just started on sanctuary hills and got the first tier city partially auto built.

i have everything but food as i cant assign anyone to it, so i will not get new citizens??

i have a strange bug where all my crops start fully grown, im thinking all of this has todo with the fallout 4 thanksgiving and christmas updates.

i submitted a bug report to the bethseda developement team, if anyone else is experiencing the same problem please do the same. i saw one other report about settlers not being assignable on november 24 so im assuming it MUST be the november update

@gunmaker :bye

yeah, IDK if Bethesda will be of much help. Once you install mods it is on the user.

A few ideas - things to try.

1. see if your scripts are backed up?
this video can explain that.

I have seen this being the cause of things like this.

2. Try rolling back your save, "don't remove or disable any mods" and check if it works from an earlier point?

3. I haven't seen any other reports, nor has my game been effected by the game version update. I think folks would be freaking out by now if this was a widespread issue. I suspect it is a coincidence that you are experiencing this now. Or, maybe it could trigger it IDK but then it is just being unlucky. :cray

4. This is a handy tool to see what all you have downloaded recently to see if a mod might be a problem.

5. If you have uninstalled or disabled any mod since you started your game - that could be it?

6. If you recently scrapped a bunch of stuff using a scraping mod also could cause it.

7. Post a load order and someone might have other ideas: :declare
here is how you get that:

Just to confirm your issue; you have vanilla crop items that you are trying to assign settlers to, but the assignment does not complete. As Raybo says that sounds like a delay issue that is usually related to too many scripts trying to run.
Just to check, are they being assigned to anything else, such as Sim plots? If that was the case the automatic assignment on default settings will move settlers away from vanilla work items in order to work the plots.

no thats not the case. i cant even assign anyone to anything, when i goto the vault tec control device it says i have no citizens that can be assigned to jobs even tho i have 5 available literally running around doing nothing.

Those 5 that you can't assign aren't the settlers from the museum are they? If they are, you cannot assign them reliably.

creating a new character solved the problem and the vault tec management system is working properly so once again i can confirm its a bug in the engine not sim settlements.

You are correct. It is a vanilla issue. I use cheat terminal for various things. All you have to do is spawn in Minutemen "settlers". Not assignable but they will assign themselves to defense.

New games solve a multitude of issues. Believe or not, not changing a load order and starting multiple games, you may have a multitude of mixed results. I can almost feel that a game is "not quite right"... things just seem off. Start again and when things seem to work right, keeping playing that game.
