Question Building outside the boundaries

Is there a mod for Xbox that can lengthen or turn off the timer for being outside the boundaries when placing items? I find it to be very frustrating to be knocked out of workshop mode while trying to place things just right.

Place Everywhere has the option, but it requires the F4SE. Which the F4SE is not available for the Xbox.

The only other mod I can think that might have it would be Workshop Plus. Not sure if it is in there or not (I ditched the mod.)

The only thing that I can think of that might do it, that I have yet to try is where you can stop the passage of time in game while your in workshop mode. Reading what it’s called doesn’t make me think it does what I want, but it m about to give it a try.

Okay, that extended the time outside the boundary to about 8 minutes. That helps butt loads. I tried flying long distance and it does weird things to the rendering of graphics.

Saw your un-answered question, there. Have you taken it for a test spin? If so, what's your review? Five stars or no bueno?
I spent some time digging around after leaving that question.

It appears to not touch the workshop scripts, since the mod is also available for PS4. The author claims that it simply adjusts a single setting somewhere.

From my experience, the mod works as intended. However, I would caution against venturing too far from a settlement when in workshop mode.

I’ll see if it fits in my small allowance of Xbox memory tomorrow. If I can fit this in it may call for a new play through.
It's less than a kb.

The real mod you want is Build Anywhere by Tim-timman. It gives you a moveable workbench. When spawned, all loaded worldspace cells, interior or exterior, will become a temporary workshop. When you want to move it, just spawn the workbench somewhere else. The workbench must always be spawned somewhere (it begins in the center of the map), but it can go anywhere.

It doesn't work with settlers, however. It's intended for building anywhere, not establishing a settlement anywhere. Still, it's very nice.

However, it can cause crashes, especially around other workshops. I've discovered the way to avoid these crashes is to always get rid of the workshop as soon as I'm done with it. For this, I use the Cheat Terminal to teleport to the QASmoke room, spawn the Build Anywhere workbench there, and the use CT again to teleport back to my previous location. Never had a crash since I started doing this.

I finally gave up trying to make it work because of the odd crashes. The worst for me, in Survival, was crashing on sleep.

I really really wanted it to work in my load out. Thanks for the CT tip/fix. Good stuff.

edit: @Catallaxis Where do you run [XB1] Disable Workshop Auto-Exit in your LO? I've got some dummy mods disabled in mine and have just started a new game this week. Still baking everything in and wondering if I can swap this one in.

I still haven't tested it for as long as I'd like, but so far so good. I'll let you know if the crashes return.

I don't think it matters, since it just tweaks one setting and I don't think any other mod touches the same thing. That said, I have it just below Place Anywhere because it kind of fits the general category.

After extensive testing, I have had no further crashes with Build Anywhere. QASmoke is a safe place to leave it when its not in active use. Edit: CT saves your last position when you enter the debug rooms, so when you want to exit, just go back to the debug room menu and you'll see an option to return to your previous location. This isn't mentioned anywhere and is easily missed.

I have discovered a whole bunch of tricks and workarounds for the Xbox recently, especially for workshop mode--I need to write some of it down. If there is anything you wish you could do but seemingly can't, I might know, so don't hesitate to ask.

Btw, if you use Custom Vanilla Assets, you can set-up a wall full of toggle switches in QASmoke using Build Anywhere. It makes a convenient "menu" to control that mod.
