It varies; the books, magazines and edibles are hidden in our plots and meant to open up crafting possibilities or give small boosts as a reward to the inquisitive player.

waaaaait, there's easter eggs in the plots? I need to rebuild a few settlements now, so far all i found was one book for beds.
