Bed count changing a lot

After being gone from Sanctuary for a while, I returned to find a bed count of 33, with only 12 settlers, & only eight residential plots. none of which had more than 2 beds. There are also 4 residential plots not built yet, & in a matter of five minutes, the bed count went from 33, to 29, then to 25, then 14, then back up to 22, & then to 27, & the settlers are complaining there are not enough beds. As I said I have several residential plots waiting to be built, & none of the settlers are showing unassigned.
Is anyone else having this problem?

Script lag you need to stay in the settlement for 15-20 Minutes doing nothing then looking on the ground. The Plots are upgrade/change most of the time when you reach a Settlement. That lead to jumping numbers.normal it fix alone after you wait some time but sometimes you need to help a little bit by first waiting that Minutes to let script catch up and after refresh all Plots but do it slow 2-3 max at time if not script lag become a pain again.

Does that include when you have "wait until seen" turned off in the upgrade options?
yes as the game calculate and build normal when the Zone is full loaded. That mean you are present or close enough.Even you get the Message that something level up from your plots they real change only that moment when you load the Zone.Wait until seen is for me a little bit unclear what exact it mean or do i turn it always off at the start.

"Wait Until Seen" makes plots unable to do MULTIPLE upgrades in a row without you going back to see them in between.
With the sheer amount of scripts going on in the background in SS2, its a minimal performance change at best - just means you dont miss out on seeing what level 2 of plots look like if you dont visit that settlement once a week.

that part i have understand. But im not sure what mean hold until seen. Its enough to go to the Settlement or i must go in front of the Plot and look at it or i must chose the ASAM to mark the Plot as seen. And what exact will the Plot do if i see it the last time at level 1 mean that he will first go to level 2 and then direct to level 3?If so it will be a real heavy script mess

Think going to the settlement is enough for it to trigger. Or coming a bit closer to the plot if it's far away, idk. I always thought "wait until seen" is a must to leave on, assuming everything happens without your involvement. Though for patient people on good PCs, it might be cool to only visit settlements when they're fully built.

When you enter the settlement, the plot will be "marked as seen" when the upgrade completes.

It will upgrade to level 2 and start the timer (can't remember, it's like a week) to check eligibility for level 3.

The biggest issue I have had with Hold upgrade until seen = on is if you enter a settlement and 20+ plots start upgrading at once. Its the same for Auto-Upgrades = on. I have upgrades set to manual for this reason.

20 with one of my City plans it could be 100+ plots upgrading at once. However I leave hold until seen off and auto level on.

Thank you for all of your replies, but I still do not understand how eight residential plots with one to two beds each can show 33 bed count.
Normal its a script lag and Calculation problem. You have 8 Resident Plots that have 8 Beds now they upgrade and as the scripts are slow the upgrade start many time much before the scrap part so the game think you have 16 Beds then the script start to do something other and the Scrap part become even slower and the SS2 calculate start again but as the Numbers are wrong at that point SS2 use the number he see and make from your 16 Beds 32 that can go up until SS2 lost complete the count of your beds in your Settlement then at some point it show you more then 2000 or 4000 Beds in your Settlement. To Fix it you need to go to the settlement and stay a real long time in some edge from your Settlement and do nothing with time the Scripts catch up and the Numbers turn normal

A long time. Like put down the mouse/controller, go to dinner in like 3 towns over, stay the weekend, come back, get some coffee and then, maybe it will be fixed. And FYI the 4000+ number you see on resources sometimes is actually a lot bigger a number the game just can't show anything past 4 digits. And means a negative number cause the HUD can't show those right either.
