Back to Fallout 4 for another playthrough. Any mod recommendations to spice it up?

I just wish it were accessible. My standard build out of 111 comes with CHA 6, but I've never pulled any of the unique NPCs in SS2 that aren't part of the first chapter of the main story. Granted, I haven't put as many hours into a single SS2 playthrough as many others... I've started over a bunch of times. Maybe the current run will be "the" one.

With Tales/Commonwealth, all you have to do to experience the content is to go out and find it. With SS2, there are requirements you have to meet. Or there's the Ron avenue, but the one time I finished the first chapter of the main story, he kept telling me there were no settlers to recruit. That was a few patches ago, though.
For what it's worth, the vast majority of SS2's "Unique Settlers" have a requirement of the settlement/s they can spawn at MUST have an active Recruitment Beacon (or a Communications Plot), in addition to their other requirements such as owning X settlements total or having a Level 3 Basic Agriculture or whatever. I presume THE RON's system checks for all that too now that the system's closer to "working as originally envisioned", which is likely why he so frequently gets reported as 'bugged' for constantly saying nobody's available to recruit. Prior to 1.0.4a the mod wasn't actually checking most of those requirements they're all flagged as having.

Personally I just use "Settlers of the Commonwealth", which I THINK is technically part of Tales snipped out to just be the named/voiced people you can find scattered around the map. They're all reasonable, although they do all have just flat 4s across their SPECIAL stats.

It was extensively tested for SS1 and does work but is extremely script heavy.

I have been running it with SS2 and haven't picked up any issues yet.
the one thing i noticed and this might just be me, but with ss2 and pack attack , they seem to run away alot more or cower in corners alot more than they used to...

Generally I prefer weapon/armour/clothing packs that leveled-list integrate, seems the "easiest" way to reinject some variety into the fairly bland combat. I'd been running "DOOMBased's Merged weapon pack" for ages, but I finally actually paid enough attention to notice almost all of them either never spawn on enemies or just don't work if anyone other than the player uses them, so I'm switching to Skibidaa's "Weapon Pack REDUX" for more gunz.
I also like "DLC Leveled List Integration", for similar reasons - just more 'variety' in enemy encounters, without having to mess around with creating wholly new enemy subtypes. Although I do prefer the 'reduced loot' version, that way the DLC items are still uncommon-ish in the Commonwealth, but there's always that chance of Raiders spawning with Radium Rifles, and Gunners love that Lever Action Rifle.

Addendum: Trying out the KH G11 by asxas, god damn that is a beautifully-impossible assault rifle.
