I expect Sanctuary is meant to be where you meet the Stranger, but by accident I did it in Hangman's Alley which ain't the best spot by any imagination. So now I keep going back there to deal with new developments and no place to build. Need a holotape or something to pick your spot. PLEASE!

Sanctuary is the most obvious place most people will do it because that’s where you start the game but my understanding is that you pick your settlement by starting the mission (building a beacon) where you want.

If you mean to have an option in the holotape to move your settlement mid mission, I’m not sure how feasible that is. My programming knowledge dates back a decade or two but I know enough to say this could be very difficult to program, if not impossible.

At what part of the quest are you stuck right now? Maybe someone will know a workaround that could help you continue rather than have to go back to a save before you placed the beacon.

Best of luck

Thanks Irealys - i didn't think it would be easy but was thinking of SKKs Fast Start Minuteman where you have an option of delay at least. I use Hangman's Alley as one of my hubs for supplying settlements and forgot that my transfer settlement blueprint loaded in a working beacon so by the time I came back I was one too many saves for going to an earlier load.
At level 16 now so could just start over - won't be the first time...

Hmmm could blow it up first and see what carnage I do to SS2 :nuke:

Well nuking a settlement was fun it just made for a bunch of cranky settlers.
Just no pleasing people so I went back to an early save and started again -cause why the hell not eh

You don't have to start at Sanctuary. My current playthrough I built the beacon at Starlight and to be honest, it's working better there than it ever did in Sanctuary. Doesn't seem to be as laggy

excellent idea - lots of room to try things without screwing up the triangle of death
