Armor Workbench Help! (Answered)

Hello to anyone that knows what this may be.

So I was playing and modifying my armor at the workbench and it was showing the modification categories for the leather armor. Now when I try and modify said leather armor nothing shows up and it displays the modification categories for the vault suit instead. Please if anyone knows what this could be.

I know this isn't sim settlements related but I desperately need help. Could it be armorsmith expanded or AWKCR (something like that.)

It is a MOD, most likely, that you have in your load order. Probably an armor MOD or crafting MOD.
I have seen this before. It is most likely 1 of 2 things.
A MOD itself that the author did by accident. Example he tabbed over in that name display causing a blank space to appear.
Or 2, two or more MODs conflict. This can happen when 2 MODs are trying to fill the same name space.

Thank you for your advice and help I'll look into it when I can. In your experience have you encountered some mods like this and what they were? I have most of the common armor and crafting mods. I'll have to try and look into it after work.

Yes, I have encountered this. I have done a lot of research on MODs and how to use them. Without knowing which MODs you use, I will give you the short version of what in know. I play on Xbox.

Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource (AWKCR) is the best MOD to use for armor, clothing, weapons and crafting. I would only use MODs that are built using AWKCR. It is built to prevent exactly what you are having an issue with. Read the MOD authors notes.

Basically, add it to your LO making sure it is as close to the top as can be. No other armor MODs should be above it. Then chose armor, clothing and weapons MODs that are compatible with AWKCR. It will say it in the notes.

My Load Order (Bold are AWKCR MODs in correct order)

1 Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch MASTER
2 Armor And Weapon Keywords Community Resource MASTER
3 USO Core MASTER
4 Workshop Framework MASTER
5 Sim Settlements 2 (after UFO4P/AWKCR) MASTER
6 HUDFramerwork
7 Settlement Menu Manager (SMM)
8 Canary Save File Monitor
9 Sim Settlements Add-ons
10 Unlocked Settlement Objects (Season Pass)
11 Settlement Menu Manager
12 Caliente’s Beautiful Bodies All-In-One
13 Female Hairstyles
14 m-249 SAW
15 Jet Ring
16 Freemaker (ANDREWCX)
17 Unlock Ballistic Weave
18 UCO: Unified Clothing Overhaul (Base Game)
19 Freecrafter
20 Place Everywhere (BOTTOM of LOAD ORDER)

Thank you for the help it looks like the AWKCR somehow ended up at the bottom of my load order. I appreciate it.

I did that once. It got real confusing fast. But It made some armor pieces that made me laugh. Made weird colors, wrong types of armor and mesh problems galore.

So here is some examples of what was happening. If you have any other ideas feel free to add them. 20211019111504_1.jpg20211019111433_1.jpg20211019111549_1.jpg

I am assuming you are referring to the fact that there are no mod slots for the Leather Chest piece. This will be a lengthy answer. Yes, I have seen this before.

To start, AWKCR requires you to use an Armorsmith or Weaponsmith work bench. Not a normal work bench. They are specifically named that. With these MODs you can become very OP right at the start of the game. It is players choice. Some do not like it because you are cheating. I do it all the time.

With AWKCR, UCO and Freecrafter MODs, you can craft most clothing armor and weapons for free at a Armorsmith or Weaponsmith work bench. Then take that item to its corresponding regular work bench and all the mods you want to it. These MODs bypass the games level and perk requirements.

UCO customizations ONLY appear when crafted by the player at Armorsmith & Weaponsmith workbenches.

#1 If you find an item in the world that you want to add mods to, you must meet the level and perk requirements of the game to do that.

#2 If you craft an item from the chemistry station, clothing armor or weapons, and then try to add mods to them, you may see no mod slots available.

#3 MOD conflicts. If you are using another MOD that does similar functions of any previously mentioned, then they must be compatible with AWKCR to work properly. Make sure you have the most current and up to date versions. Sometimes MOD authorize have stopped supporting a MOD and become incompatible with AWKCR. AWKCR has been managed very well over the years. Not all MODs are.

#4 Some MODs do not list AWKCR in the MOD but still work. Case in point. I have Steampunk Gunslinger Outfit MOD. I craft it at the chem station. There are some mod slots for it but not all of them. I can still wear armor pieces over it, like arms, legs, chest and helmet. Those pieces have all mod slots.

My Load Order
The Number is where it is in my load order, I removed the other MODs I have just to make this easier.

2 AWKCR (Armor and Weapon Keywords Community Resource) All DLC, standardized framework
3 USO (Unlocked Settlement Objects) Core, settlement items
10 USO (Unlocked Settlement Objects), Season Pass
16 Freemaker (ANDREWCX) Complete Edition, produce items with no material or perk requirements
17 Unlock Ballistic Weave
18 UCO: (Unified Clothing Overhaul), Base Game, for clothing and armor
19 Freecrafter (ANDREWCX) Complete Edition, lets you add mods to clothing, armor weapons

Hope this helps.
