Anyone run this on xbox series x?

I had to give up on my xbox one s because of constant crashes and just curious if anyone has tried either sim settlements on xbox series x? I’m curious if the crashes are a result of hardware or the xbox version itself.

I have. There’s no Xbox problem for me other than if you go nuts building or build in the triangle of death or fast travel between settlements over and over.
knowing the basics, I have had very few problems with SS2 so far, and they’ve all been related to plots. The internal industrial One Mans Trash crashes Xbox when it upgrades to level 3. Wasteland Venturers 1x1 commercials crash Xbox. Stuff like that.
Don’t build too much and don’t have too many different settlements trying to upgrade at once

Thanks for the info, sadly that doesn’t sound too much different from my experience on Xbox one S. I was hoping it would be more stable on series X

Haven’t used S so no idea the difference but it is very stable. I’ve had no problems and I have a lot going on currently. If you want to overload it you can but that’s the same on PC

My mod folder is lager in file size than the main game. So on PC the level you can overload is much higher than on Xbox. Sorry to say in any platform you are only as fast as your slowest component and in the Case of fallout and modding that component is usually the machine. I have litterly smoked as in smoke coming off of, an Xbox one playing Fallout. And a PC or 2.

As usual late to the conversation I use an X Box Series X just to see how the mod would run; I get a constant 60 fps, with another mod, the only issue's I have had have been quest bugs and they have been patched out. Also taking note of "Dutch 77's" it works fine, in truth better overall than my PC.

My issues so far- All pre patch, I am stress testing on Series X as we speak.

IF you don't use big city plans, or at least limit the distance between BIG plans, e.g. Spectacle and Sanctuary running RotC Plans and the rest basics or just individual plots, it all runs beautifully. As of my third stress test before going Survival Mode - I had 12 settlements with city plans, and 3 without, and 2 with NOTHING on them. All quests ran great up to boarding the Prydwen (which a lot of Xbox users know was a major crash issue when flying over Boston). It ran smooth and at 60fps.

ISSUES and CRASHES -
Auto Upgraded cities and any City Plan from RotC crashed Series X and sometimes catastrophic crash to Series X, required full system restart. Disabling RotC helped.
Lag issues in Level 3 cities with all City Plans. a lot of things on screen are bound to create lag even on the best of systems.
Triangle of Death - Sanctuary Hills, Abernathy, and Red Rocket - Best to only develop Sanctuary and leave the others alone. I only added 1 Defense and 1 caravan network plot to Abernathy on the far South West Side to avoid crashes.
Tenpines, Starlight Drive in and Spectacle Island all displaying incorrect stats, Tenpines kept giving error missing asset messages. (I think this was just fixed). Starlight-Drive-In crashed when it hit L2 of L3 with any city plan from Basic to RotC - Individual plots recommended.
Allow leveled plots works fine provided its not on a city plan.
Idle settlers not interacting or pathing through some of the Wasteland Venturers 2 plots.
Settlements don't display accurate beds, resources, or happiness, sometimes showing 0 beds or 4300 beds. Travel to settlements and refresh or hang out and happiness and numbers right themselves up.
Some caravan network plots won't connect with others if you don't refresh.

Again, these are all my notes before the 3/19/21 patch release. I've pushed some settlements to their limits before crashing.
I don't know if its a mod issue, or that Beth hasn't bothered updating the game to optimize for next gen consoles.

Using the 720/60fps mod, and then disabling it gives you an upscaled version running almost 4k and 60fps, but with disabling mods on xbox comes the file corruptions etc. So, that may also be an issue.

As of writing this, I've had 3 crashes in a row entering sanctuary running on a Basic City Plan. Reason unknown. Did a quick REFRESH CITY PLAN and ran to 111 while it was running the refresh sequence.

Hope this helps.

This is all before the last update 19/03/21; Triangle of Death - Sanctuary Hills, Abernathy, and Red Rocket I only developed one left the other's as is, stable at 60 fps, used mod for this until Xbox updated and they have 60 fps as an option now so I thought why not and no issue with either. Starlight-Drive-In crashed when it hit Level 2 with any city plan from Basic to RotC. Overall lag issues with Level 3 all City Plans. Playing basic mod with Individual plots recommended no issue and you can if you keep to Bethesda's population limits, you can even build in the Triangle of Death I usually keep to about 10 settlers each settlement.
After patch I did have a warning on start-up that Sim Settlements had not loaded and received a pop up asking did I want to try again; and have not had it since, I reloaded the save 10x's to see if it would trigger again but no.
That's all for now.

Wait, did Microsoft release the 4k 60FPS performance update officially? Or are you still using one of the low res unlock mods and then turning it off to reach upscaled 60fps?

Microsoft released the official 60 fps update so its either or a mod not both the game will not load. It was part of an update from the back compatibility team; there are a number of games from xbox 1 and 360 era getting updates, the latest is Oblivion from the 360 and it plays and looks amazing at 60 fps.

I’ve been waiting for oblivion patch may be time to start a new game after 10 years. I can’t wait till the skyblivion guy finishes his mod.
