Altering a downloaded "Extra Settlements" mod to be fully compatible

I downloaded a mod 'Red Rocket Settlements' (https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17681) and using it allows settlement building and SS plots seem to be working,
but the SS tools say there are none of each plot type, say "you need to be inside the settlement area" or similar (sorry I didn't screenshot it), and when I send someone to that settlement it is not on the list; so I suspect there's an extra step required to make them fully compatible and integrated.

Coudn't spot in the wiki a guide for this; what do I need to do or add to make a new 'spot' fully recognizable as a settlement?

I send someone to that settlement it is not on the list;

Oh, @Marnok this isn't good. :scratchhead

What you did is one of the checks to make sure a modded location workshop is working and set-up correctly. :good

You can try to move that mod lower in your load order.

BUT, here is the thing - the mod you downloaded is old and had problems.

The one below is updated and fixed by a Sim Settlements author. One that really knows how to set up the workshops in modded locations.

No :aggro! I don't think you can install this one now. You will need to roll your save back to a point where the locations are not modded then try the updated version and re-testing from that point. :this

Users can "never ever" uninstall a workshop. 100% of the time you must roll back or you will break your save file.

In the words of "Pra"
"When in doubt, put this mod somewhere low in your load order. As with all settlement mods, if there is a mod conflict, the settlement mod must win.

Load the mod and check whenever the settlement works correctly. Do NOT keep playing if you experience issues! See also this article for a list of possible issues."

The article below is also Pra and is very important to read.

I hope some the above helps. :drinks

Bad news for my playthrough, but excellent for my understanding. I'll restart with recommended mod and test.

[ Edit : or maybe not use it as it is an ESL, and the Pra essay speaks against them]

Thanks for the answer!
