Please post bugs specific to Rise of the Commonwealth and Abernathy Farm in this thread.

Crashes during the cinematic for Abernathy Farm every time for me. Tried it 3 times. Did a local file check in steam, no errors, restarted PC. Still crashes. Also Piper when picked, would not work and then she disappeared from the list so I chose Ada and that allowed the cinematic to start but eventually crash the game to the desktop with no error message on the screen.

Sanctuary and Red Rocket both worked fine for me.

Did you have anything built at Abernathy first? If so, you might try doing the Local Destruct Sequence from the pipboy / planners desk first before the cinematic. I crash every time at every settlement if I don't do a self destruct sequence first, though I have not tested any areas where I have not built SS plots beforehand yet.

It crashed for me the first time I tried it too. Loaded my save and tried again, this time, half way through the flying animation, I pressed ESC and saved and the city was built as expected. Probably no cause->effect, but I don't know for sure.

A couple of my old SS plots exploded after the animation, but that's just script lag I think.

When I entered the build plan option I had to answer every option twice. By that I mean the menu would appear to pick a leader/build plan and upon picking it, the menu would immediately pop back up and I would have to select it again. The same thing happened with the option to scrap everything when you begin work on the build plan.

Upon completing the above the cinematic cut scene happened and upon it reaching its end, the character death scene appeared.

When I tried this again, I had saved right before doing this, I did not experience the dual menu options and while everything seemed good, I was a bit worried so I canceled out of the cinematic trailer before it finished.

Let me know if you need anything else.

try using the town meeting gavel to full nuke the settlement and then hit the blueprint, that's been acting as a viable workaround for these crashes for now.

Troubleshooting is ongoing.

PC User "MrCJohn" posted in a comment on another post in General 1/1/17 (link to post is below):

He was unable to finish the quest "Return The Favor" (the one for Mary's locket). He used set-stage to complete it. I asked him at what point in the quest did it get hung up - as soon as he replies I'll update this. Here is the link to the post with his comment towards the end (this post is not HIS post, he just commented on it with this issue) This bugged quest incident might be isolated, but in case it becomes a theme I wanted to post it here so others can see it.

I don't know if it's a bug but in my game the farm never gains settlers. The original family are there, there is a working beacon placed there by SS, and there is a leader. Also I have 100% for upgrade scrap and a rating of 100 for armory.

My Abernathy farm is rank 1 and I have not touched it at all (pre or post starting RoTC build on it). It is showing 8 people but only 5 beds. Also, the SS UI claims there are enough residences.

What happens when you sleep for 7 days in a bed at the settlement? I'm wondering if you're not just hitting a crappy run of RNG.

If the settler count goes up when you do that, even by 1, it's working.

Also, settlement happiness has an impact on recruiting, if it's below I think 60, it goes from being a positive or neutral to a negative modifier so that would be another thing I'd check.

If happiness is a factor, the quickest way to get it back up is to just throw booze at the problem until it goes away (wish this worked in real life).

I gave that a shot and every 24 hrs I'd get several updates from multiple settlements. By the end I got a large spam of them and Abernathy finally had enough beds for everyone (and the total population went up to 10).

Sounds like you just had a good run of bad luck...

I'd keep on sleeping to get it above 15 settlers myself, especially if happiness is on the rise.

Update: people have started filtering in but it seems much slower than other settlements. I may just grabbing some people from other settlements and sending them there.

What happiness is the settlement at? That can make a big difference for settlement growth times.

If that's climbing, then it should hit a point soon where the rest will start showing up pretty quick.

On the beta 3.0.3 patch, and just upgraded this from L1 to L2. It looks like the gate turrets and the cigarette machine on the second floor of the south barn (where the desk gets moved to) were supposed to move or rotate or something during the build? But instead a second copy has been spawned in their new rotation and it's clipping into the first one.

Also, and this is working as intended, I appreciate the big attached doghouse. That's a cool trick.

See if a settlement refresh gets the dupes to go away. The overwrite is certainly not working as intended.

I have no idea what's going on with your planner's desk Marcel, it's definitely inside the settlement inside the gold save.
