A couple of RoTC autobuild / city plan questions

I'm running the game on a lower end system, what's the best way to go about letting the scripts do its thing in Rise of the Commonwealth? Is it better for me to just chill there while they layout the foundations or just leave them to it and go a loading screen away?

Also, is there anything more I should keep in mind about this expansion in general?
  • Is it feasible to have leaders build all my cities?
  • Is it safe to place lots / turrets AFTER the settlers have finished laying out the groundwork?
  • Can I safely rehire companions that I gave a city to?

Any tips and tricks appreciated, thanks!

Low end system...
Don't build Sanctuary or Starlight. Optimized versions are in the works..
You can have leaders build all your settlements.. depending on how low end of a system, you might want to pick 5 to build & check out, trash them, build 5 more. Or however you want to keep the load down.
Set the City Upgrades to Manual.
Turn Cinematic Mode either Off or at least turn Wide Shots Off.
Run the Performance Wizard & set it to Low.
The foundation level & level 1 you shouldn't have any problem with. It will be the Level 2 & 3 where you'll see a performance hit.

Once Level 3 is finished you can Take Back The City and still leave the current leader assigned, so you still get their perks.
You can also have the leader follow you (normal companions) at any time, but you have to assign another leader for the city to build.

You can build whatever you want, jut remember IF it requires power, YOU have to supply it. Do not try wiring in to City Plan.. bad things "can" happen. LOL!

Woodfuzzy,
What "bad things" happen if we wire into city plan power? I've done that in all my settlements and have not noticed any issues yet. What should I be watching out for?

The engine has a bug that can lead to crashes ...

Yep - it's the reason everything is self powered when built by a city plan.
